This is the conservative way now, especially in Alberta.
You could spend X dollars fixing a problem, OR, you could spend like 90% of that on contracts to businesses owned by your buddies. Don't worry, they won't have to actually deliver anything that would actually fix the problem (See PPE, Lab services, Private surgical centers, and Tylenol). Now you spend the reaming 10% on advertising to tell people you've fixed the problem.
Now the people who will always vote for you can believe that the problem has been fixed, despite their own experience and all objective evidence to the contrary, and your buddies are rich.
I challenge anyone to show me how actually fixing the problem would be better. This way dumb people/your voters will still vote for you , and your friends/donors are rich.
The best part is that if anyone points out that the problem does still exist, you can just blame AHS, "The Union", or the NDP (they really are still dining out on that 4 years where the NDP ran the joint).
