It’s great to see even the players that are likely going to need a year in the AHL looking really good so far. Guys Gridin and Suniev for example. It’s a good bet to assume they will be in the AHL for most of this year but both are further along than I thought and Conroy needs to start making room for them on the roster - let alone the other good prospects/young players that will also likely take big steps over the next 1-2 years (Basha, Potter, Reschny). It already feels like an overcrowded NHL roster but I think it will be very crowded next year if Conroy does not actively make room for young players by trading some vets.

Time to dump Andersson.
Also probably not a good idea resigning Hanley. There are probably 5 young D waiting in the wings. We are going to start losing them at some point.
Brzustewicz
Solovyov
Kuznetsov
Miromanov
Pachal
I know they don’t all require waivers. But I see the only locks on D as being Weegar and Bahl. Andersson still being here locks another until he’s gone. Guessing Parekh a 4th and Hanley and Bean a fifth and sixth.
So one spot left for five young guys. Hopefully we don’t lose any sending them down. I’m not a super big Miromanov fan. But the others are decent. Would be a shame to lose any of them due to not moving Andersson and resigning Hanley.
Could probably add Cicek to the mix as well. He has also looked good.
