This is likely more or less true. Just like tech companies are looking to be in the good graces of the Trump government they looked to be in the good graces of the Biden government. So their content policies reflect the the areas of government priorities in an effort to prevent regulatory oversite.
So while Biden didn’t tell people to ban content the administration certainly talked about not spreading misinformation being the responsibility of tech companies if they wanted to avoid crackdowns.
So the behaviour of the tech giants is expected.
