Are you a fan of Canadian sports, the Calgary Flames, or classic editorial cartooning? On behalf of Dave, here's a rare opportunity to own original sketches by Dave Elston, one of Canada’s most iconic sports cartoonists.
🎨
About the Artist
Dave Elston began freelancing for the Calgary Sun in 1980 and joined The Hockey News in 1985. By 1989, he became Canada’s only full-time sports cartoonist, capturing the drama, humour, and heart of the sports world with his distinctive pen.
📚
His Work Spanned Decades
Elston’s cartoons covered everything from the NHL, CFL, NFL, MLB, PGA, rodeo, boxing, and the Olympics. His main focus was the Calgary Flames, the Battle of Alberta, and the local sports scene including the Stampeders, Cannons, and the 1988 Winter Olympics.
