Lol

They spanked the Orioles in two of the three wins and beat a play-off team in the Astros. You're smoking something funny. This team's entire MO all season has been to put together strong, quality at-bats in the early innings to stress or even push out the starter and then punish the fatigue or bull-pen in the later innings. Nothing has changed. They're still doing that. Baseball is gonna baseball and you're going to have games where it goes down closer to the wire or doesn't happen the way you want but the plan has been successful since May, so why change now?

Eventually the luck well runs dry.

New York against the quality of their opponents are likely to go 7-2 or better. Jays need .500 or better ball to close this out and playing the way they have the last two weeks might not get them there unless they get lucky.
No team is ever likely to have a .777 win %, regardless of opponent.

Possible yes. likely, no.

If Yankees go 7-2, Jays just need to go 4-5, right? Seems pretty doable.

What ChatGPT told me the Yankees have to do to pass the Blue Jays. It said if Toronto wins 6 of 9 it's mathematically impossible.

TOR 0–9 → NYY 4–5 (Yankees finish 90–72 vs TOR 89–73)
TOR 1–8 → NYY 5–4
TOR 2–7 → NYY 6–3
TOR 3–6 → NYY 7–2
TOR 4–5 → NYY 8–1
TOR 5–4 → NYY 9–0

Because of the chance to clinch they asked to share the feed so the game next Friday is on AppleTV+.

Max got squeezed on his last three pitches. But he also hasn't been very sharp. 25 pitches and he hasn't got an out yet.

And just like that the Royals take the lead. Horror start for Scherzer. 5 runs and still no outs.
