What can you say? The rise of Fascism seems to be working like the rise of a good loaf of sourdough, so why not?
This has all the heft of a good croissant!

I too love bread, a fresh baguette with good cheese and some nice sandwich meat?

It's bad enough we have to deal with all the other crap going on today and now we have to deal with price fixing on bread? What a time to be alive! I actually recently received a cheque for $25 for the Auto Parts class action lawsuit so may as well throw my name in for another free Quarter Pounder meal.

As I recall, and its a little hazy as my History classes were eons ago, but the price-fixing of bread which translated into many other regions throughout the middle-ages and was actually a very common practice.
Bakers werent just some guy getting up early and tossing some dough into a hastily cobbled together oven, they were respected artisans!
There were two main differences however as I recall.
The first being that Bakers, by law, had to produce a certain amount of bread per day at minimum of various types but it was measured by weight and 'underweight' bread sales were punished.
Quote:
A baker's dozen, devil's dozen,[13][14] or long dozen is 13, one more than a standard dozen. The broadest use of baker's dozen today is simply a group of thirteen objects (often baked goods).[15] The term has meant different things over the last few centuries.
In England, when selling certain goods, bakers were obliged to sell goods by the dozen at a specific weight or quality (or a specific average weight). During this time, bakers who sold a dozen units that failed to meet this requirement could be penalized with a fine. Therefore, to avoid risking this penalty, some bakers included an extra unit to be sure the minimum weight was met, bringing the total to 13 units or what is now commonly known as a baker's dozen.[16][17] The thirteenth piece of bread is called the vantage loaf.[18]

And the second major difference being that the price fixing was introduced by the Monarchy specifically to keep the prices low...because everybody's gotta eat.
Fed Peasants are Peasants less likely to behead you.

I was looking for a pun combining bread and the Illuminati, but nothing rose up.

Is my memory off or wasn't there some other price fixing settlement relating to bread a few years ago? Is this a different one?
For those rising up together, they should call themselves breadthren. Go yeast mode on those deceptive companies needing an anti-crust beat down.

It appears so. When you fill out the form, one of the questions is: "Did you apply for a $25 Loblaw Gift Card under the Loblaw Card Program in 2018 as partial compensation for the purchase of Packaged Bread?"
If you did get something then, you may not be eligible to get anything for this settlement.

I noticed that once I started going through the claim form. I double checked my email and I don't see anything relating to it or a confirmation or whatever, so I don't think I applied for the gift card. Worst case, I am mistaken and I get nothing. But I woke up getting nothing, so this would be just be some type of bonus.
In 2018, I was also at a different address, so I wonder how they'd cross reference that other than potentially using locations, emails and names?

Two or three decades ago there was a class action lawsuit against the type of foam used in certain furniture. I made $28.00 on that deal so I know how the game is played, looking forward to hearing from the big bread boys.

I got a decent payout from the Class Action against Banks when they got caught over-billing Merchants on point-of-sale services.
I'm sure the bread lawsuit will be mere croutons compared to their reaping of leavened profits!

You'll need the most up-to-date iPhone and a different charger for that.
