Bland but oppressive? You can taste the slavery that goes into each bar!

You should all google Dubai Chocolate with the NSFW filter turned off.

And honestly, after thinking about it, it's a good thing.

If fast food prices itself out of most people's daily budget, then they'll be forced to put in a little extra effort to stay fed. Like make extra dinner the night before to have leftovers for lunch, or get the ingredients to make a sandwich or wrap from the grocery with superior ingredients than you get at the drive thru, or even just fasting. Which is actually better for their health than loading up on fast food combos.

A&W has a Buddy burger bundle for $6.00 Gets you a burger small fires and a drink.

Man, what a pain in the ass.

Somebody accidentally sent me an etransfer of a lump of money. Had previously sold them something a month ago via facebook marketplace and they wanted to do an etransfer instead of cash. I guess they set up my information as a saved payee and then accidentally selected me for this transaction.

Want to just send it back but I'm set to auto-deposit and apparently it's not really possible to just reverse it by the bank. But I also don't want to expose myself to any risk of fraud if they somehow can claw back the accidental transfer down the road if I return it.

I honestly don't think it's some kind of scam as I sold them stuff a month ago but what a waste of time and risk.

Someone sent you a chunk of money and it's a PITA? Send it on to me.

This still sounds like a scam. I wouldn't do anything without talking to your bank and getting their advice in writing.

They may have a stolen credit card or money to launder. They send you excess, then ask for it back. You send it, then the authorities step in and cancel the original transaction and you are out the dough. Do not send anything back until you are confident you won’t get screwed over. Maybe involve your bank and the police.

Yeah, I've heard this before, it hasn't happened to me but I understand that it happens.

Don’t send anything back period. Just call your bank and tell them you don’t recognize that e-transfer and that it doesn’t belong in your account.

So they ban the guy, but leave the post that gets him banned?

I tagged it behind NSFW but it’s still up. I think a breather would be more warranted than a ban. But I don’t run the place.

Yeah, I had a quick chat with a teller at my bank before close today. But I think I'll just reach out to their bank at some random branch, explain the situation and give them a contact to talk to at my bank. Let them figure it out, I'll be happy to confirm that it isn't supposed to be at my account. I have no interest in keeping it of course.

I do anything else and I think it just exposes me to a risk I don't need.

Annoying though, time and effort just to do the right thing. Ffs, don't send me your rent money by accident!

Interac is not associated directly with the banks . It’s a stand alone not for profit company / product

As of 2 years ago it was impossible to reverse an Interact transfer (I do payment integrations) so unless something changed I wouldn’t worry about a “claw back” - it (was) impossible

Has the sender contacted you and asked for the $$ back ?

I don't use auto deposit for those types of reasons. I can ignore it if it's an erroneous charge from a rando and let it expire. I had a friend who did lots of transfers and for a while, i'd get a wrong transfer every few months till he figured his stuff out. I don't do transfers with enough regularity that a password on e transfer is that much more annoying than sending funds back and forth. Especially since I do run into situations occasionally where the e transfer limit of $3K runs out.

I do have auto deposit on another account, but those that transfer to that account are people I know and are reliable, not randos or people that would take forever to organize a reversal.
