Sound in Grey Eagle is good but it's a big rectangular room that has zero personality or charm. The floor should have been raked so people <6' tall can see the stage from the back half of the venue. Because of the size of the venue they do seem to get most of the metal acts so you get used to it and I do like in the winter how you can move over to the casino between sets for a drink and watch some hockey.

I'll be there and shows at Grey Eagle are decent. I like that it's a relatively small venue and other shows that I've been to there are pretty cool for that reason.

Relative to the Dome, maybe. But relative to everything else it’s kind of massive.

I was actually surprised by how big it was.

Oh yeah, it's big inside, but the acts they bring in don't seem to attract large crowds. Or at least the shows that I've been to.

Bigger or smaller than Mac Hall?

I think it's quite a bit larger than Mac Hall.

Have they changed the setup where the floor is just one big floor and when they put chairs in it's terrible. The back had the bleachers. I haven't gone back in like 8 years.

I was there earlier this year and it was the same.. chairs on the floor around the stage and bleachers further back. It's small enough that bleachers were fine IMO.

EDIT: Took my mom to see an ABBA cover band and it was a hoot. It was pretty full too with lots of people dressed up.

It varies depending on the event. If it's a rock/metal concert its bare floor with the FOH in the middle. For comedians and stuff it's chairs and the bleachers pulled out.

Big room, small capacity relative to its size. Fire marshalls gave it a 2700 capacity which isn't huge for how big it is. I've been to sold out shows and its so empty to the sides abd back. Its too bad.

But for reference it is bigger than Mac Hall (1800) and the Palace theater (1200). Really highlights the need for a decent 4000-6000 seat venue in this city. Most big tours choose between a 19000 seat hockey arena or 2700 capacity hall outside the city whej booking here.

Well that sucked, tried to get Ariana Grande tickets for her Montreal concert next year through the artist presale and it sold out before I moved through the queue.. I guess that's common for popular concerts? Haven't tried getting tickets for a big show like this before, I guess it'd just be random when the queue starts?

They added a 3rd show right away and I'm 33,000 in the queue there lol.

That sounds awesome but I’ve pretty much given up on trying to see anyone remotely popular for this reason. It’s just wacky out there in ticket land.

We were planning on being in Europe next summer so I'll probably try and get tickets to a London concert too the presale for those is next week.

The general public sale for Montreal starts tomorrow morning so will try again I guess.

If not then I have to decide if I want to pay resale prices.

Was only 2800th in line this morning but it sold out right away again.

So is my only option now something like stubhub?

Fan clubs are generally pre sale offers, not after general goes on sale.

Hopefully she's still alive next year. I think she eats half an almond a day. Can a body continue to live with zero meat on its bones?

For those that enjoy electronic music I have it on good authority that Eric Prydz will be performing at the Grey Eagle on December 28th. Also Boodang's PURE will be back on December 27th in Calgary
