It's been a topic on social media.

Honestly he'd have a way better chance of winning a cup here since the Flames have a lot of the parts other than a #1 franchise player.

It would be pretty funny if McDavid signed a 20.8m x 7 contract with us. That’s the maximum cap you can put on a player at the projected 104m salary cap. I wouldn’t be shocked if that’s his new cap hit. Doubt it’s us, but someone else will offer that. It’s a matter of how much he’s willing to leave off the table to land a better contender that can fit him.

I think that would change pretty quickly. Like, five games quickly.

And this is coming from someone who loathes him. I felt weird mixed emotions when he scored the 4 Nations winner.

Does anyone really still think McDavid is going anywhere but to the Leafs next off season?

20.8 seems like something Utah's owner would do. Guy's dying to make a splash.

McDavid won't go there though.

McAvi would struggle in Calgary as we play a team game not 2 players for 45 mins.

Good lord, what a visual atrocity.

The "Play Alberta" sponsor logo looks like a piece of paper stuck to the garment. That looks like it is casting a shadow.

That's gotta be a joke.

Also, how is it even possible to take a photo that bad?

The logo looks like it was lifted from a 70's soda can.

What do the Flames most need to become a Cup contender? An elite 1C? But the Flames would have to reprogram him to think team first.

Without a doubt, the Flames would be one of the teams that would benefit the most from signing McDavid as a UFA.

Huberdeau-McDavid-Coronato (elite passing, elite speed, elite finishing, the new Gatorade line+++)

Zary-Kadri-Sharangovich (two players who can generate zone entries with possession and one with great finishing ability who can regain his scoring touch now that he's healthy)

Pospisil-Backlund-Coleman (shutdown line with scoring upside; Honzek, Potter, Reschny and/or Stockselius can transition into this line in the next 2 years)

Klapka-Frost-Farabee (really another 3rd line with energy, speed, and some scoring upside)

Weegar-Andersson trade return (or internal promotion of Mews, Suniev, or Morin in the next 2 years)

Bahl-Parekh

Pachal-Brz (possibly replace Pachal with Mews, Morin, or Suniev in the next 2 years)

But, but.. that would make Dissentowner correct?

That would be some crow that a segment of posters would not be interested in eating after all the #### they gave him.

I suspect you'd downgrade the 4th line by trading some guys in order to boost the D a bit.

Hart will sign in Edmonton and the local media will run a quick puff piece about how he's learned his lesson and has been found not guilty so who is anyone to judge. After that there will be no mention of the sexual assault incident by media or fans.

Imagine the circus if McDavid remains unsigned AND they bring Carter Hart in. LOL.

Oilers sports media must be champing at the bit for something other than "no term" to write about.

IDK, why would Hart signs with the Oilers where it's the media circus of the universe?

It's something that's almost expected of each veteran signing a new contract with the Oilers. Gives him instant cred to join the boys' club with its other degenerates and misogynists.
