That's not what he said, nor is it what anyone is arguing.
It's a two way street. You can't go off on an athlete in a public forum and then cry about it when he says he doesn't like it, or that it is not causing him to want to extend, or gives any other reaction.
People say "they should expect it and shouldn't let it affect them". I can just imagine the outrage if one of the Flames said "yeah, I've seen the fans' criticisms and I don't give a F what they say".

Kaprisov has always wanted to be in the spotlight and pursue sponsorship income. He was doing ads for Great Clips in his rookie season. From his perspective he probably sees Minnesota as going nowhere and wants to be in the spotlight.
He should be careful what he asks for though. Minnesota has some other great players in Rossi, Boldy, and Buium. He may find himself in a worse position wherever he goes.
It would be nuts if him and McDavid were planning a Parise/Suter move and both demanded to sign for the same team. There's nothing to indicate this at all, but it would be funny.

I think this could be a great trade deadline for the Flames.
They could take on a expiring bad value contract from a contender so that they can build a better team in exchange for some picks. The Flames also have arguably one of the best value contracts to trade in Ras, which should easily be worth more than a 1st because of the new circumstances. It would be pretty awesome to see the Flames utilize their cap space in an aggressive way this year. I didn't think it was a possibility, but the new rules really change things.
I guess I should first ask if there are even any one year contracts that a contender would love to get rid of?

He’s literally doing a job for our entertainment, much like a singer who puts on a really crappy concert and the paid attendees complain about lip singing - so can we fans complain about his performance.
He could’ve gotten a normal job if he wanted to avoid scrutiny.

Did you watch him and Hanifin against the Oilers? he sucks.
Ideally I want him to goto vegas and get reunited with Noah.
Top 5 pick baby!

You can complain all you like but don’t whine after the fact that he points out your complaining.

And you could not post if you didn’t want criticism of your posts. you still are missing the whole point.
A. No one said you couldn’t complain. Not one person has said that.
B. He’s doing a job for your entertainment, which I suspect you don’t pay anything for, unlike a concertgoer.
C. No one said he wanted to avoid scrutiny. Including him. But he’s allowed to react to it. You think he should say nothing.
D. It’s lip synching.

It's a shame you do not hate the Oilers as much as I do. Cuz they really suck.

A. I’m just justifying fan criticism, it’s life for these guys
B. Unlike concert goers, I invest 82+ games plus the off season into it. I then pay for Sportsnet and cable just for hockey, which is part of their revenue, plus my jerseys and my kids jerseys - which need frequent changing. That’s not even mentioning the 2-3 games we may too. But hey, that wouldn’t sound as witty as your comment, right
C. No he can say whatever he wants, I’d just rather he invest his time into playing a better game of hockey so the results can be more favorable for my entertainment - which as fans we pay for. You may think hockey is a service, but it’s paid entertainment.
D. Jee gosh, you actually got me.

You are stretching like crazy. You don’t have to justify criticism, because no one has said you can’t, or even shouldn’t. It’s your disbelief that players should have an opinion about it which is funny.
You “invest”in 82 games? How? You buy jerseys? He gets almost nothing from that.
You want to complain without the player reacting to it. If he told you what he probably really thinks of complaining fans you’d throw a fit.
