On one hand the city really needed this as the roads have been in shambles but man the road construction in this city is crazy. It's like city hall picked 2025 to make up several years of neglect. I'm usually one of those people that likes to arrive early for appointments but it's been difficult getting around the city in a timely manner this summer as Waze hasn't been able to take into account a lot of the construction probably because it's randomly popped up at so many locations.

I don’t mind improvements in roads or whatever. I do mind the closing of lanes explicably for weeks before anything is started or Priveco being able to disrupt traffic for weeks. It should cost $1000/hr to close a lane.
Ke Charcoal was redoing their sidewalk on 14th and it took stupid long. Major snarl point.
Whatever they are putting kitty korner to Bottlescrews has two lanes closed for months. I looked at it out my office. It’s 95% so contractors can park their trucks there all day. Pouring concrete, close away, but you have to reopen as soon as you can at your expense.
Also what happened Sept 9?

Knowing that UCB served, I assume he was talking about this.

I imagine that stings especially hard. FWIW, we do listen here when you share and try to absorb your experience and that of the people you lost and those who no doubt remain affected to this day.

Also, the timing of the lights on Anderson, between Deerfoot and Stoney West, is terrible. You are pretty much guaranteed to stop at each and every light along the way.

I despise when they set the timing of lights to make sure drivers going one direction will have to stop at every single light.

Yeah, it can take me 50 minutes to get from Canmore to Anderson/Stoney. Then another half that time just picking my way down Anderson. It doesn't help you get slow fks in the left lane. If I could just go my own speed sans strugglers I'd make 90% of the lights.

It is a hard thing to articulate.
It's like forever having a mental pain that comes back when don't expect it.

Granted by the Province, it gives them the same 'rights' as other emergency vehicles when you pass them on the road. ie move over a lane or slow to 60km/hr.

They always had those rights, this is just because people ignore orange lights.
Of course, they'll just ignore these too

I went to St. Patrick's School as well - for the last six months of elementary. My brother was there for five years.
At the time, we were between two public schools - Douglas Harkness and Pineridge.

Why does anyone think I will hire a tailor to make me a suit based on a phone call?
