I’ve never bet, what does the two numbers mean. You get your bet back and that number? What does the second one mean.

So if he has 150 points by march that number goes down and you make less because he’d clearly be winning at that point?

I use decimals for my odds. So at 13.0, on $100 you would get back $1300. so you win $1200.

I've never really bet such a long term bet before. I'm assuming with bet365 they would offer you like $1100 once he passed the 100 point mark lol.

Others are a little more cautious and patient - often giving them protected minutes and 2nd line powerplay opportunities.

Not sure how Huska will deploy Parekh to start the season and as the season progresses. For the most part, I think he seems to reward young players if they play responsibly and produce but pull back a bit on their leash if they start making too many mistakes. Probly a good development strategy overall but can limit how productive a season a rookie can have. And Parekh’s style of play could lead to many mistakes.

Also, Andersson sticking around for most of the season could limit Parekh’s opportunities a bit. The flames might want to inflate Andersson’s value a bit - which could mean a spot on PP1 is reserved for him.
Based on how they've used Wolf and Coronato, I have little reason to think they won't ease Parekh into regular action and then turn him loose on PP1 by the end of October or early November. If it's clear he's the best option, there is no reason to stifle him on the offensive side of the puck.

Hutson was 4th among rookie defencemen, all time, in scoring, with the highest point total since the 1980s.

It'd be great if Parekh can replicate that, but doing so also requires having a better rookie season than guys like Bourque, Housley, Makar, etc...

I wonder if Anderson is going to see PP1 time as he is showcased to increase his trade value.

Parekh just had offensive numbers that haven't been matched by a D in Ontario junior hockey since Bobby Orr. So never say never.

Problem is defenseman usually take a while to get going in the NHL, even Bobby took 3 years to become a star.

Parekh at 19 faces an uphill battle IMO

If he was stepping into a Flames lineup that had Gaudreau Monahan like Fox was about to, yeah I could see some absolute fun and chase.

I think this is more helpful though, step into the hard times, and it will get easier as it goes.

^^^This would be a big blow to the team and Parekh if he can't get a full camp in this year. Never like a players odds of having a solid year when they start late and have to play catch up. Hopefully the kid can get right and put himself in a position to have a full season at his best.

This is concerning because it's been lingering all summer

The reporting went from "he’s expected to be a full participant in training camp in the fall" to "the hope is he’ll be ready for training camp"

The shift in the language is slightly concerning.

At my advanced age I make it a point to worry about things that are a clear worry and sit out the worry that I haven't been forced to commit to!

He's not allowed to be assigned to the AHL for this season, but in theory, if he's coming off an injury, can he do a conditioning stint?

When can we start worrying about the flames' medical team and advice to players on injury?

off top of head in the last 5 years:
- Monahan recurring injury never properly addressed
- Pospisil recurring injuries
- Zary came back too soon last year and looked rough
- Rasmus playing through substantial injuries and looked terrible
- Sharangovich weird injury and rehab/ not coming back right

Yeah, players deserve some blame (some more than others, lol pospisil) but also, it seems to me like the flames more consistently deal with longer term nagging injuries to players.

I expect he'll be at main camp from Day 1 next week. Nothing for him to gain or prove skating with the rookies this week or playing in the 2 exhibition games. Also worth considering if he can't go to the AHL the thought was he would play a partial schedule like what the Ducks did with Carlsson. So if anything is nagging he'd likely get the rest anyway.

I think we're reaching here. You could point out 5 players over the past 5 years from any organization easily with similar situations that you deem "worrisome".

Crazy concept that missing month(s) makes it difficult to step back in at full speed right away. Who woulda thought!
