Sinner should win tonight relatively easily barring injury. It would be a tall task for FAA to take out a healthy Sinner. Still it's always exciting to see a Canadian get this deep into a grand slam and one of those things Canadian tennis fans shouldn't take for granted as I remember the days when Glenn Michibata was our best national men's player.

I know Novak wasn't really trying hard last night and would have turned it on if he needed to, but if Fritz actually took advantage of his myriad of opportunities he may have at least made it tense last night. Felix can't win if he doesn't take advantage when Sinner offers chances, it will all start with that.

That 6-0 6-2 pasting Sinner handed Felix in Cincinnati is likely still fresh in his mind. It all starts with the serve, if Felix is serving well, the rest of his game tends to follow and if he can get himself into a tie-break, that's likely his best chance to steal a set.

2009 Nadal beats Soderling in Rome 6-1,6-0. A few weeks later they meet again at the French Open and Soderling pulls off the greatest upset in tennis history.

Crazy good level from Amanda Anisimova today and after that tough loss in the Wimbledon final, some great redemption eliminating Iga 6-4 6-3.

Gaby and Erin will play for their 2nd US Open women's doubles crown as they defeated Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini just now 6-4 6-3. They will take on the top seeds of Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova in the final.

Osaka has a goofy grand slam record. She has played in 30 grand slams and made the QF 4 times. But each of those 4 times she went on to win it all. Will she go 5 for 5?

Not sure if a guy who pleaded no contest to domestic abuse should be part of a "Battle of the Sexes" exhibition...

Thats the biggest difference with Alcaraz and Sinner, Alcaraz will give his opponent a set for the lolz, because he's bored, more focused on ladies in the crowd etc...Sinner is just like "#### you, die".

So all Felix needs is a first serve percentage of 80% on Friday night.

Denis was on fire serving in the first set of that match and full marks for pushing Sinner more than any other player in the tournament. Peak Shapo (something we rarely see) makes high level shots that most players can't. Alcaraz being the best at high level tennis is really the only player that seems to give Sinner fits.

Sinner vs other Italians will probably always be like Rafa vs other Spaniards, aka hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby
