Depending on your commute, I think there are a few good inner city options for on your way in/out. But definitely not overly convenient. I'm going to need to explicitly seek one of them out rather than just coming upon the opportunity, which I think isn't the best for their chances.

I think part of it is that if you're in a building, they must agree to having you there, while in parks they can just set up. I will mention this to the Calgary coordinator though and see what they can do.

Downtown locations:
There is one at Century Gardens (8th Street and 8th Avenue) on Friday, September 5 from 11AM - 1PM.
They are planning one for City Hall (probably outside) next week and trying to get a few set up on Stephen Avenue (no details yet).

They also would be happy to set up some indoor venues, but need building operators to agree. If anyone is willing / able to talk to their building about having a table in the lobby, PM me and I will connect you with the organizer.

Did the recall the mayor petition have to go through all this? They had just insane presence in Calgary through the entire thing just moving from +15 to +15 every day.

Maybe the +15's are a bit of a free for all zone?

Either way I did my part - just want an easy place to send colleagues and friends that may be on the fence. Thanks for the information!

I'm guessing these guys are being a lot more careful to make sure every signature is above board. Especially given that the Mayoral petition was tossed out for not verifying the signatories, and that we have a Premier that is a closet separatist and openly antithetical to their efforts who will take any action possible to invalidate what they are doing.

You mean she won't listen to the will of the people? But that's her thing!

That thought has crossed my mind, but we have about 4,300 canvassers who are giving our all who would be severely pissed, plus the hundreds of thousands of people who have signed our petitions. I’m approaching 200 signatures now and some canvassers have much bigger numbers. I don’t think Dani would dare do that. /fingers crossed

Any sense for the count yet? Simple math of 4300 * 200 is clear, but I'm curious what the average signature tally looks like. Fairly reasonable to assume that less densely populated areas (rural, etc.) would have far fewer signatures, so the 200 per canvasser is likely overstated.

My wife and I signed when we were passing through Cochrane over the weekend, and it seemed as though a fairly steady flow of folks were signing as we waited at MacKays.

I think she is absolutely power drunk enough to challenge the signatures. She would even come out and say something like "we are just following the process to ensure everything was done correctly". She doesn't care what the canvassers or the people signing the petition think, she already assumes they are against her.

Hopefully once the signatures are collected and put forth there is nothing for her to challenge.

Many of you are asking me how confidential are the #ForeverCanadian signatures and if government officials will see them.
They will be treated by Elections Alberta like voting ballots. Once counted, they will be destroyed. Government has no access to this information.
