I don't think Shapo has much of a chance today versus Jannik Sinner, but he usually plays his best tennis against the top guys on tour (what I'm saying is when he's the heavy favorite is when he can suffer a bad loss). I'd just like to see him take a set off the Italian, put some doubt in his mind.

Shapo guarantees himself at worst a tie-break in this opening set. He did get broken trying to serve for the opening set at 5-3, but Sinner played a fantastic return game.

If I told you somebody would double-fault to lose the opening set, you would think it would be Denis. But no, Denis is the beneficiary of a shaky Sinner serve.

I can't remember a time in recent memory where Sinner is shanking the ball as much as he is today.

Captain Obvious says that was a poor service game from Denis.

After his near loss to Dimitrov, looks like he struggles with 1 handed backhanders

Man. I want to like him, but Shapo is insufferable.

It's too bad because Sinner is ripe for the taking today. It would be great is Denis could somehow force a 5th set, but the chances of that are pretty slim.
Edit: That's eight games in a row for Jannik. Yikes.

Meanwhile, Venus and Leylah are up a set and a double break in their 2nd round doubles match.
Edit: Venus and Leylah into round 3 following a 7-6 6-1 win - Keep it rolling ladies!!

Heck of an effort from Coleman, but Bweh prevails in five sets.
