That's more books than this entire government has collectively read.

I am fascinated that Aynn Rand, made the list. One would think that a superstar of capitalist thought would have received some sort of exemption from the Alberta government.
To slightly stir the pot, I recently wrote the jobs and economic development minister asking how this book been will looked upon on the international investment stage. I made particular reference to how Ayn Rand banned in Alberta might infer how Alberta is becoming anti-capitalist.
I used this tool

Pro tip: make use of the phrase "what will be done...".
Once upon a Time, it forced press secretaries to craft a response to your query

Now that our own version of the Orange Cheeto is banning books, I wonder when she'll have a book burning party.

Honestly it would be better if the schoolboards held the party publically and invited as much national media as possible. Burn the books and have it reflect on Danielle Smith and the UCP. They need to be exposed and protested

Obviously I am not a fan of the punk Nate Horner - unqualified, angry, hateful, christofacist. News conference today, supposedly the teachers and the government are are still negotiating but here is the limit to what they can pay the teachers as per Nate Horner. Nate should be more concerned about the massive surplus last budget and the massive deficit this year. Amateurs pushing christian values and don't have a clue how to govern.

Well, to be fair, that “surplus” last year was sleight of hand. Where they’re spending, and where they should be, is a whole other issue.

How so? Just curious. I know in a previous year they declared a small surplus while borrowing the same amount to pay the bills.

All I can get

It's not about banning the books. They could care less about the kids. The bright, inquisitive ones will read them anyway.
It's about "owning the libs."

It’s is still recommended for all people to get one per year.
You are likely shortening/increasing negative outcomes to your life by not being vaccinated annually.

I think we’re talking about the same one. Wasn’t that last year? Horner was asked about it and called it an accounting surplus.

Premier Smith was none too happy with the EPSB’s proposed proscription as per Dr. Nicolaides’ orders of Ayn Rand’s#Atlas Shrugged, a book the premier has indicated in the past is more to her taste than Ms. Atwood’s oeuvre.#
“I didn’t read#Atlas Shrugged#until I was 22,” Ms. Smith confesssed to an inquiring reporter, explaining a lot. “I had a friend in Grade 10 who read it. Maybe we should make it mandatory reading in high school, because it is a pretty influential book and I think it does really articulate how important it is that that we value our entrepreneurs and we value a free-enterprise economy.” Moreover, she added, it is “absolutely appropriate for school children of that age.”
I will leave readers with screenwriter John Rogers’ famously accurate assessment of the late Ms. Rand’s#magnum opus: “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The#Lord of the Rings#and#Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

I thought the latest surplus was $8B and those accounting shenanigans were the year before.

Could well be. This government has had so many missteps that I’ve lost track. It’s one after another and just so many bad decisions.
