Nick Woltemade, you mean the Nick Woltemade who Bremen let leave for 4 million euros last year? That Nick Woltemade?

pretty sure Stuttgart actually signed him on a free but yeah, that Nick Woltemade.
Meanwhile, United are selling Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea for £40m. Pretty underwhelming fee in comparison to Madueke, Gittens and so on, but it is what it is. Rasmus Hojlund will go to Napoli for another £40m (technically, it'll be a loan with an option to buy, which turns into obligation if Napoli qualify for CL).

Mainoo has also requested to leave on loan.
Not even weeks 3 and United are falling apart.

well, he's apparently been told he's competing with Fernandes for a spot. And since Fernandes never gets subbed, he's in for a long season ... going on loan would make a lot of sense for him. Go somewhere else, play every week, develop as a player ... and there's a good chance both Amorim and Fernandes are gone when he comes back.

Well, in fairness Amorim straight up told Mainoo that he wasn't in the plans and to go find another club.

Pretty crazy for a player that was "better than Saka" at the beginning of last season.
I have no doubt he'll go somewhere else and play well though.

I’m going to say that Spurs are signing Xavi Simons. I realize that we could get burned here, but Chelsea has signed both Garnacho and Buonnotte now, and surely they can’t have Simons in the mix as well!
Assuming this is a done deal (Frank said at his presser today that he thinks we’re close to signing someone), this will be the biggest transfer in club history. They’re committing a total of £125m including the transfer fee and wages. I’m pretty excited to see this happen!

I don't watch Bundesliga much but seems like a good signing. Spurs must be happy to get a big signing over the line.
The league looks poised for much entertainment this season.

absolute clown show this evening ... after Antony going "Betis or nothing" all summer, Man United have now accepted an offer from them for €25m and a 50% sell-on clause. Well, an hour later ...
https://twitter.com/user/status/1961534337670652171
Looks like Andy Mitten was right when he suggested a few days ago it's all posturing from Betis to appease their fans, so they can say "look, we tried" while in reality not having the funds to actually sign him ... but now United have actually accepted their offer, so they withdraw it within an hour. Really can't make this #### up.

Seeing that Fulham goal chalked off by VAR, and yeah it's time to scrap it. In its current state it's not worth keeping. Keep the semi-automated offside, but for everything else it just doesn't work.

That was so ridiculous. And for the ref to call that a “reckless challenge” is just embarrassing. VAR is just purely goal prevention and I’m not sure that this is correcting clear and obvious errors.

I always use this example because it was one of the most blatant errors I can remember, but it was in the 18/19 season when Liverpool played West Ham and Liverpool scored a goal with Milner being like three yards offside. My hope was VAR was gonna help overturn blatantly obvious things, but it's just totally bastardised, and you're 100% right that their intention now seems to be to seek out reasons to overturn goals rather than just getting bad calls correct. Without significant changes it's not worth keeping.
