That comment by Pronman on "this season his offense hasn't been so elite" is exactly why Diss called him an idiot and was right to do so.
edit: comment being from January makes more sense, but I still believe his opinions on the Flames prospects and players hold close to zero weight

yeah, It really is hard to take that comment on Parekh seriously. Offense hasn't been so elite. Guy hasn't done something since Bobby Orr. As a Dman he was 5th in the league. How is that not elite offense?
Oh January. Still .

17th is too low. Weird they say Parekh could potentially run a power play. That's one of his biggest strengths lol.
It's fine to be skeptical defensively, but to say he does not have elite talent on offense is crazy.

I'm confused. So that comment about Parekh wasn't in the article about being 17th?

We actually have gone over this before. In fact it was in response to you! But you just ignored it then so its no wonder you don't remember.

Not it was in his article from earlier in the year covering his ranking of under 23 players.
In this new article he says this (this is only a snippet as I really think people should pay for this content)
Parekh is an extremely talented offensive defenseman who has dominated the OHL over the last few years. He has a ton of skill and hockey sense. When the puck is on his stick, he beats opponents one-on-one often. His brain operates differently from other players on the ice in how he sees the ice and can take an extra second with the puck to create a scoring chance.
....
He’s not overly physical and tends to cheat for offense. He makes stops but will likely never be a tough-minutes defender. He projects as a top-four defenseman who can run a first power play, and you’re hoping he will be good enough at even strength to make a coach trust him regularly.
They are also doing daily podcasts of these rankings, and if you listen today, he doesn't really offer clarity on the low ranking for the Flames. He is more positive about Parekh including his defense. Still calls him a top 4 dman who can run a PP. Is very high on Reschney. Talks a bit about Coronato but doesn't seem him necessarily hitting another level (e.g. a 30 goal guy).
So I think that's really it. It's a combination of factors:
- Pronman cares less about the depth of the pool. Focuses on the top end
- The Flames lack any young NHLers that he considers elite.
- He isn't as high on Zayne as others.
Factor that all in, and you net out to where he ranks them.

There's a difference between an opinion and a prejudice or fallacy. A difference in opinions is welcomed. Refusing to acknowledge facts plainly laid out to push a factually false narrative under the guise of an opinion is unwelcome anywhere.

Feel free to put me on ignore then. 90% of your posts are just talking down to, being condescending, and crapping on other posters anyways. So I have nothing more to say.

Someone presenting you with information that is counter to your opinion isn’t crapping on you, it’s discussing with you.

I'm not responding to him. This poster has a personal vendetta against me and has crapped on every post I have made since I signed up.
I'm fine with having a discussion or conversation. I am not going to respond to someone who is condescending.

You're probably both right. The two parties couldn't agree on a number...Conroy tells him he's going to be traded as they're too far apart. Lindholm would have stayed for the right price.
I expect a very similar article from Andersson this season.

I think Rhett’s been pretty reasonable since he apologized and vowed to be better. I think we should give him a bit of a break, and be kinder with how we respond to him. Forgiveness is divine.

Well when someone says the equivalent of “the Flames won the Stanley Cup last year” and someone says no, that is not factual correct with evidence I don’t think that is being unkind to point out.

Whether it’s Francis or Serivalli or Pronman or whoever I’ve never understood the hate directed towards people who write about hockey, especially to those who want to talk about hockey which is obviously the point of this forum.

I take issue with Pronman because this guy has made a living at being a moron when it comes to evaluating prospects. It's mindboggling he gets paid to give bad takes about prospects and he has been doing it for years. He is like that guy at the office who really sucks at his job and his productivity is F all and yet he has been there for a decade or more.

That article means nothing.
Lindholm says he was willing ti stay in Calgary.
Im sure he was at a certain price.
That doesn't mean CC didn't make him a competitive offer.
All it says is they didnt reach an agreement

I agree, this guy has some bad takes. I really don't see how we have a bottom half of the league prospect pool.
I really think even trying to be unbiased it is close to if not in the top 10. Parekh has so much potential too, not to mention so many other promising young players.
