Fleabag (2016) is an awesome show, highly recommend. Just about finished season 2. Laugh out loud funny and really smart writing.

There’s quite a few of these shows now where the season 1 story plays itself out, it’s enjoyable, but that kind of should be it

Yes, I'm quoting a 6 year old post. But, we are really enjoying this show. I think it's gained relevancy since it first aired.

It's only become more prescient with the passage of time, for sure. Makes you wish we had that kind of AI looking out for us, instead of these Copilot bots in Excel that can't do math.

The music industry is even more fragmented. Soon, none of us will have a common experience of artists to talk about.
What is happening?

I agree with you on shows, but aren't pretty much all artists available on different streaming platforms for music?
I haven't really noticed any need to get different platforms for different music.

It's a different kind of fragmentation. There's never been more good music being released, but there isn't that ubiquitous inescapable radio hit jammed down your throat by the same AM/FM stations playing the same top 40 songs over and over and over again for months on end. People can search out and find the greatest electronica Argentina album ever made, and they can probably find the album on Spotify or Apple Music or Youtube Music. But they won't be able to find the six other people in Canada who have listened to it.

So I just finished the season, and while I still stand behind the above statement The Studio deserves all the recognition it's getting. Those last two episodes were brilliant, I haven't laughed that hard at a show in years. So many amazing lines ("I knew he had a big dick..."), incredible guest performances by Dave Franco and Zoe Kravitz, and just give the Emmy to Bryan Cranston now because no one else comes close. The whole season was a fun ride, but that finale takes it into all-time status for me

There is just so much music available now, we will all be listening to different things. Before we only heard music released by major labels. Top 40 was familiar to all of us. Not now.

Been watching The Pitt

Enjoyed it until the mass shooting.

Didn't seem necessary

I don't hate that they had it, but I don't think it needed to be 4 episodes

Kind of a crime she wrapped it up after two seasons. I think she could have easily got another season or two out of it. Definitely one of the best shows out of the last decade.

I'm fine with it. The narrative had run its course. Also, British shows are notorious for short but spectacular runs. They know not to overstay their welcome.

Tbh I didn't know the show was only 2 seasons when I made that post so I was pretty devastated. After some time with it though, I agree with Cali. The show ended in a good place - there are far too many shows that overstay their welcome and taint what would otherwise be a great TV series.

I don't know. To me there's more to work than say Ted Lasso that's maybe being spread too thin as to me there's still more of a journey for the character to play out. Just because she now understands how to love, it doesn't make finding a partner any more easy dating today is hard and her difficulties in the dating world with new/better intentions could have still been done through a first person narrative.

Anytime a show hits a peak point of excellence there's the risk of not being able to maintain that level but Fleabag post apex would still be far better than most television today. I'm still holding out that she will revisit the show with decade later type of take.

Sample size is pretty small to say but to me it's no different than any sequel where it all comes down to the quality of the material and execution. When it comes to big movie or TV show sequels, a lot of the time capitalizing on popularity to make money is of more focus and the quality of the original can get lost especially with new writers/producers, etc. With a small show like this with creative control still being held by Waller-Bridge I think it could.

So no?

I enjoyed the show, but honestly sometimes less is more.

I'd rather have the couple of good seasons than continued weakened seasons.
