Started par-par-birdie last night when I went out for 9 after the kids were in bed. Started to get excited then promptly had a couple accidents. Shot my usual 44. Still yet to break 40 on 9 this year but have shot exactly 40 three times.
You'll probably shoot 37.

With this week of hot sunny weather I decided to make hay and catch up on rounds lost due to all the rain we had this summer. Have rounds booked for everyday this week and including the long weekend. Currently have 53 rounds played this summer.

I’ve cut back this year, but I can’t believe that I’m ahead of Dion! I don’t think my lead will hold though. You have to get out early now, and some of us have work to do!

Tilley Hats are a godsend on the golf course. As a retiree who likes to walk the course it did a very effective job of keeping the sun off my head, side of my face and neck. Walking the course wearing a golf cap would have killed me today with the buzzards picking my bones clean.
Just back from the annual golf tournament with my dad's friends. This year was North/South Carolina at the Cliffs' courses. Best 4 of 6 rounds, came in 4th of 8 with my high handicap. Shooting between 101 and 119 (averaged 103.5).
Good news: learned what rotating and coiling is finally. Always swung with arms. Irons were flying the green and getting me some great opportunities.
Bad news: it was very, very easy to shoot 3-5 shots from within 30 yards of the hole. Need to learn how to chip properly out of fairway, rough, and sand. 3-Putting happens far too often too. Need to learn how to read or feel breaks on the green (putter is not very balanced so it doesn't hang very straight).
Game is finally feeling good for the season.
Shot 74 on 16 holes Wednesday evening (before losing light), followed by 85 Thursday morning while using a demo putter just to test it and definitely cost me 3-4 strokes.
Came into the season shooting 82-86 consistently in the Fall/Winter and basically spent all Spring/Summer trying to get back there.
Thought I'd break 80 this Summer but actually regressed until this week. Golf progress is never a straight line.
Played Blue Devil yesterday and started with a bogey then went 6 pars, then birdied 8 and 9 for a 1 under 35 front 9, best front 9 I've ever had. Think I put too much pressure on myself an imploded for a 48 on the back for an 83.
I'm a 14 cap so the 1 under was a complete suprise. Lowest round of my season with 21 round played right now.

I'm a 16 and can see why a 9 like that would make you implode. That's inane, great 9!

My club in Nanton is having it's annual Nite golf tournament on Friday night. Dinner at 7PM followed by 9 holes of golf at 8:30PM. This year we had to close down registrations early due to ever increasing demand.
The attached video gives you an idea of what goes on.
