Not being from or in Canada, but does everyone just hate the leafs due to the amount of coverage they get or is there another reason? Surely the media coverage is not the teams fault, or is it?

For sure, the bracket style makes for decent entertainment but lacks accuracy. Would people dislike Vegas more so than Toronto or Montreal?

Yeah the Wild had a Cinderella run to the final 4 mostly due to playing weaker opposition.

Lots do. Vegas and Toronto are about equal for me and I don’t mind Montreal.

Well as expected it’s down to Edmonton and Vancouver. I’d like to say every vote counts, but it really doesn’t in this case. Thanks for the time everyone and voting along the way!

Edit: for a little entertainment I tallied up the votes for edmontons opposition. Through 4 rounds a grand total of 36 votes were cast for Edmontons opponent, where 20 of those votes were for the Ducks.

There were only 4 teams to receive fewer than 36 votes (outside of the oilers opponents) in a single round, Flames, Preds, Stars and Wild. We all knew the oilers would win, and it was an absolute decimation.

Oilers have some of what makes all other teams hateable. Don’t like Toronto’s media coverage? Edmonton says hold my beer. Don’t like TB or Vegas’ cap manipulation? Edmonton does it too. Don’t like dirty players like Anaheim has with Kessler and Perry? Hi Kane/Draisaitl/Nurse/McDavid/Perry/Kane. Don’t like ####### ownership like Aquilini? I give you Mr. Katz. Didn’t like Vegas being gifted a team? Edmonton won the Lottery 4 times in 6 years and jumped to get McDavid. Living off of past glory like Montreal? Ask Edmonton about their cups. Obnoxious fans in your home rink (Toronto/Habs)? Edmontons are worse.

I would be curious how the rest of the league sees them. For Flames fans, it was a foregone conclusion, but you have laid out a great case for all fans to dislike the coilers. They have to make top 5 for all other teams.

when i clicked on the link i could see edmonton in the finals. i voted... didn't ever bother to scroll down to see who the opposition was! ha! ha!
