Stamps announce they are at 25,000 sold for Saturday. Of course it’s the one game I can’t make.

What is the new listed capacity now that some of the corner sections are tarped off? Would be nice if they could get 28,000, beat the Riders, and get more momentum for a 30,000+ crowd for Labour Day.

Riders are bringing in some competition for Brett Lauther....
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian kicker Campbell Fair.
The 25-year-old native of Oakville, Ont. attended training camp with the Edmonton Elks earlier this year but didn’t make the team’s final roster. He remained a free agent until the Roughriders came calling this week.

I think it's around 30k by the eye test. I was at the labor day game two season ago that was announced at 28k or so and it looked like maybe 1500 empty seats in addition to the tarped off sections.

Wonder what they are saving Bighill for? Maybe Labor Day and the stretch run?

Sounds like he’s a game time decision.

He signed with the Calgary Stampeders this season, and he says he’s ready to go.
“I’m hoping Dave (Dickenson) lets me go,” said Bighill.
“At the end of the day, there’s always roster conversations (and) sometimes there’s nothing you can control. I’m just hoping that this week it works out for me. Regardless, we’ve got guys who are ready to play, and I’m just waiting for my opportunity to get out there.
“So, when it’s time, it will be time, but I’m optimistic.”
|
Quote:
”I’m certainly not in the business of rushing guys, but I think he’s ready; we just have to decide how we’re going to work on this roster,” said Dickenson.
“One of the things we as a team talk about is you’ve got to earn it, and he’s doing that.
“He’s doing the right things, and I guess we’ve just got to play it out.”

Well, that's no good...Going to have to lean on the running game and our Canadian (National) receivers.

Fraser Masin is placed on the practice roster too - Vassett is now the punter.

Every time I watch Ottawa, I can't believe they beat the Stamps, twice.

It will all but decide who finishes first this year.
If the Riders win, they're 3 games up with only 8 games remaining. (They also get the tiebreak if they win by 15+ pts.)
If the Stamps win, they're 1 game back with the tiebreak, and an easier remaining schedule.

Purolator Tackle Hunger Food Drive today.
Perfect weather for one of my absolute favourite activities, watching a bunch of clowns dressed head to toe in green walk out of McMahon sad and disappointed after a loss!
