So proud and amazed daily by my sons (23 and 21), both musicians.
My oldest son (drummer) just completed a tour with his grindcore band. He played LA, Sacremento, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Squamish, Kamloops, Edmonton and Calgary. He has made so many connections.
My youngest (guitar) is on the Deans List, entering the 4th year of the music program at Grant McEwan. He plans to do his Masters at McGill. He shares my passion for fly fishing.
Can’t wait for grandchildren.

That's awesome
Mine are smarter, more athletic, kinder and more empathetic than me.
I consider it a win

Mine are 18 and 19. I love when I see them sleeping or just having a faraway look or something when you can still see their baby face in there somewhere. It's so cute and neat to know them from a little tiny hunk of weirdness to competent, accomplished, smart people. Plus they're super fun. Or when they randomly meet you in the hallway or whatever and just give you a big long hug. Straight into my veins with that.

My boy poops his pants and seeks me out to wipe his ass. Same same I guess.

Enjoy every phase and take a ton of pictures and video like a paparazzi. Certain parts of the memory are foggy and it's always nice to go back and revisit events in more detail.
For me, time with kids is like an elastic band. Every day seems to pass so slow and every day seems longer... until all of a sudden, you realize time has launched and years have passed.
Completely agree with Sliver. When the kids are happy to have me around, that's an amazing feeling. Or the scenarios where I just melt away when they wander over, offer an unsolicited complement and then wander away.

"Daddy, I'm done pooping, can you wipe my bum?"
"Why? You know how to wipe your own bum."
"Because. I want you to remember you can do a really good job!"

Had a coworker put it really well the other day. Said the days are long but the years are short when you have kids.

One day they may be wiping your ass. I had to help my dad in his last year.

I was being tongue in cheek, I’m just grateful he wants me around. Like last night he was having trouble falling asleep so I laid beside his crib on the floor and he said “Daddy hand” and reached through the crib bars for me. It’s the best.

My daughter always wanted one of us to "snuggle" it was usually me, the boy didn't give a #### and would roll over and go to sleep.
Looking back it was really nice, even the times she would wake me and tell me to get out because I was snoring.
