The “issue” is that maybe the term sneakers is a little too broad to apply to all types of flexible, soft sole lace up footwear.

There are probably better terms than “fashion sneaker”. You see them called lifestyle shoes in some stores that also sell athletic footwear but that seems kind of lame to me.

How is that his issue? I don’t think his issue was what the shoe type is called. It was a fashion objection (a good one since the shoes he referenced are extremely dorky).

Also, did you call me an attention seeker because I asked you a question? lol. Or were you saying you were just looking for attention? Which I guess is fine but nobody asked, you’re good dude.

I think the roads needed attention but what's with the city ripping up the roads all over to re-pour curbs. I don't recall a summer ever where they have done this so extensively. Also feels so random as some of the curbs they have done around intersections were totally find while some on John Laurie falling apart were left untouched.

I was referring to a variety of sneakers that I would refer to as “fashion sneakers”. As I said, maybe there is a better term, I’d be happy to learn it. I probably wouldn't be looking for fashion advice from someone who thinks that all such shoes are “dorky” but to each there own. Keep rocking the Hey Dudes and Keens.

And no, that one post is not what solely defines you as needing attention.

Eh it was pretty clear what he was talking about. It was also just a funny comment. The Cole Haan reference painted a pretty clear picture for those who know.

I looked up Hey Dudes. Had no idea that’s what those were called. Hideous lol. As for the attention seeking stuff idk man it’s just a conversation about shoes, seems like a really weird thing to try to shoehorn in. If you have that much baggage that you can’t even help yourself from trying to turn that into a personal exchange maybe get it off your chest fully or just grow up and get over it. I promise, nobody cares as much as you.

Dating tip for women - don’t wear your Oilers jersey on your Tinder profile when you live in Calgary. I also swipe left for women with rifles, motorcycles or country music fans.

Oops, Erick already covered that.

Country music people must just not realize how truly off-putting that genre is to the masses. I'm married, but if I were dating that would be an absolute deal breaker for me, too. Like...I'd just assume you're a vapid redneck moron with the world's dumbest takes and a basic-bitch sense of humour.

You aren't listening to the right country music, son.

I will have you know that I only wear a certain Japanese brand of flip-flops called Suicoke in the summer. Either those guys, or a pair of ancient Vans slip-ons that smell like the inside of my body on a hot summer's day.

You're suggesting I should take country music advice from a man who drives a Rav4 and doesn't know how to embed a youtube video?

This sounds like an abuse of the foster care system.

Nah, I don't like challenging my preconceived notions. Makes me less pure.

When he's ready let me know and I'll show him how to embed a youtube video, and then him and I will have a nice little chuckle about how his dad couldn't do it even after being on the board for 23 years.

I'd rather they be up front about it so I don't waste my time rather than learning that stuff somewhere down the road.

It's funny because the Oilers thing wouldn't bother me much, as it just tells me she's a big hockey fan (maybe sports fan in general), which is awesome.

I've dated enough non-sports fans to know I'd much rather date a huge hockey fan who loves my rival team, than a non-sports fan who's going to complain whenever you want to watch the game. The couples' sports team chirping is actually pretty fun (if you cheer for the better team anyway).

But yeah, the country music fan part is a massive red flag, blech...
