I have a question / observation about air bags - Are the air bag systems on cars nowadays being designed to deploy on even low impact crashes?

Over the past 4-5 months, I have driven past at least 4 or 5 seemingly minor incidents on low speed roads (like 50 km/h or 60 km/h max) where the driver side air bags were deployed. One involved a car ran over some temp construction signs on 37 St SW, another one with a single vehicle on the Nose Hill & Country Hills intersection, and the third one even stranger - a car rear-ended a pickup going uphill!!

Can someone explain is it that easy to pop the air bag?

lol, if I'm in an accident at 60km/h I sure as sht want my airbags to go off.

That's probably going to sell pretty good as the Maverick has proven that there's a market for smaller trucks.

It's a modern Toyota truck, so I'm sure it's going to be a hideously overdesigned mess, but I would 100% be on-board with naming it the Toyota Taquito.

I guess another tech to add if somehow someone doesn't have it, is a wireless back up camera. Can mount that to the license plate of the vehicle. No need to pull wires or drill holes to figure out a camera in the back.

Seem cool to me. I am at a point, though, where I just wouldn't buy into a new techy company. Even well-funded Rivian seems like a PITA to own. I'm on their subreddit and those guys have tons of issues. I hope Slate is successful and gets established. I just don't have any patience for being an early adopter anymore.

I'm doing a full on integrated seat massager (like you'd get from the factory), rather than a massage cover. It's probably a bit more crazy than most people would want to go, but given the application, it makes sense.

My dad had a wireless backup camera in his C5, and the damn thing would randomly pick up a wireless security camera feed every time he drove past a certain spot near their house.

I have full massage seats in both my cars, and it's a game changer on long trips. 10/10, do recommend.

Others might know better than me, but I would assume figuring out where the AC drain is at the bottom and seeing if forcing pressured air from the bottom can clear the clog (vs going from the top and potentially just jamming it tighter and further down the drain pipe).

It's possible some lubricant from the top to help facilitate moving the clog might be helpful though. Hopefully it's not like sap that has glued itself to the inside of the drain. Definitely look up youtube videos of your exact car for that fix/cleaning to make the attempt more successful. Good luck!

The tube you should see from underneath (google yourmake and model or youtube) and the only time I ever had to clear one i used a straight piece of heavy gauge copper wire. Do not have your face directly under the tube.
Unless you feel like taking the dash and then the box that houses it apart you wont get to it from inside.
Worst case scenario is the tube is detached from the box...that would be can of worms you likely dont want to open without experience.

Honda surprisingly didn't ask for the red OEM floor mats back for my Civic Si which is surprising, because I easily sold them for $190 on eBay. Probably around $240 new from Honda.
