In our experience with the radon stuff we were preparing to conduct our house envelope upgrade, so we knew that things would get very airtight. A years worth of monitoring showed it above those guidelines, so easy decision to put a system in.
Our cost was super low, and that was in a home that did not have the rough-in for a system ready to go. Just seems like a super easy thing to do and add possibly another layer of protection. Haven't really thought about it since.

We literally all see it online and out in public with people. Carnivore diet stupidity, crazy stupid health and diet claims. People who are convinced that vaping is the much better option than smoking. Anti vaxxers who go on Ozempic to lose weight for dubious reasons when they are not diabetic. So many people I know with CPAP machines for who knows what reason other than they got sold it.
I just think people have gotten away from some of the basic things that we have known to be true for generations.

Do you seriously know people, firsthand, who got cpaps for no reason? The only people I know who got them were all tested and report significant benefits.

Ya that's insane. I should get one but dreading it. My wife won't even sleep in the same bed with me. Slept on the couch in kelowna with a buddy on the other couch and in the morining he's like "dude, you have total sleep apnea you gotta go check that out". It would explain a lot.
How much are they?

I don’t believe you can even get a cpap machine, or ozempic for that matter, without a prescription, so there is clearly some reason

No, I guess I meant it from the other end. Sleep apnea is a serious condition, and it's crazy that so many otherwise healthy people I know have it.

Obviously it’s BIG CPAP behind it. And the Mafia.

Haha. A buddy of mine (not sales) is a morning person and would routinely start work at 5:30 - 6am and finish up early as a result. He'd refuse any meeting requests after 2:30pm and respond with a counter proposal earlier than 8am. Didn't take his coworkers long to clue in. t

I'm sort of like that guy. I get to my desk early and that's when I get a lot of emailing accomplished. My VP told me recently that I shouldn't expect a response from him that early because he's not a "morning guy". He's two hours ahead of me in Toronto ha.

Can confirm you can order a CPAP online and they will ask for a prescription, then ship it before you even have a chance to submit it. Saved a step and doctor note fee...

Really? That actually is pretty funny.
I have a CPAP machine, diagnosed and prescription and the whole shebang. It’s absolutely helped my sleep, a lot actually. And my wife’s. They are a bit cumbersome / annoying, no getting around it, but it’s definitely worth it.

Geez, now it sounds like everyone has a CPAP. I don't need one but I'm thinking I should get one anyway to fit in with the crowd.
Sucks having coffee at A&W and everyone's like "Oooh, what model do you have? How many HP is it? What colour is yours" and I just have to sit there silent.

Early morning and after 4:30 are my only quiet times when I can actually get anything done too.

I always took great glee in refusing 4pm meeting requests after. I was halfway home by that time.
