I try not to think about that, lest I become depressed with the thought that we could have had Calum Ritchie AND a first coming back…

It is crazy they got that kind of value for him. Kadri is a better player imo.

That might be true but the market rate for a center like Kadri is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd (O’Reilly) or the Nelson package. That is what high quality centers who help teams win go for. Not too worried about Kadri’s value, there are enough trades for centers that one can make a reasonable guess it will be significantly higher than what some think it will be if or when the Flames trade him.

Either way though, people were saying his contract was untradeable a couple of years ago. Now he is worth a lot more than a 1st?

Like do you just make stuff up to fit your argument and go from there?
Kadri had 87 points in 71 games for the Avs the year they won the cup (big part of their seeding)
Kadri missed 4 playoff games with injury
He was likely the biggest reason they beat the Blues, they don't without him
Scored an OT winner in the Cup Final
The fact that Toronto got rid of him because he played too hard in the playoffs is hilarious...guess who else has walked the line and got suspended in the playoffs...Sam Bennett
Kadri is EXACTLY the type of player teams want for the playoffs...even more so in the "Panthers era"
Blues chased him around for 3 periods after he bumped their goalie and he scored a hatty
Marchand turned out well but he had 47 points, was injured, and told them he would only go to the Panthers at the last minute after contract talks broke down...he is also older. Not really a comparable for market value. Kadri is also aging really well...you realize his last 4 seasons, all in his 30s are the best years of his career right?

Remember when we had sec giving gifs and the trade rumors thread was a lot of fun man what a time to be alive. Doesn’t matter if you thought sec was an insider or full of it, when you came to this thread it was fun trying to figure out the Gifs. For those who cried over it being posted I hope you realize that all you did was tell a bunch of kids that there is no Santa

Oh we know, because you constantly derided him and pointed to his aggressive, sometimes suspendable play as a major flaw the minute he was traded from Calgary. And STILL chastised Bennett AND Tkachuk with "seee???!!!" after they lost in the finals....before winning the cup twice, lol.
Just from a quick search of Stanley Cup finals with the Panthers, here's your opinion on Bennett.

Honestly he is decent but waaaaay over rated
And dumb

Just random musing after searching, but pretty cool that only 10 teams have won the Cup in the last 17 seasons. Draft those high end players!!!!!!

The thing that hurts Kadris value is he has 4 years left on his deal. If the Flames retain (which I hope they do) I think that changes things. But 4 years at 7 million and his age that's not as easy of a decision for teams.

Vehemently disagree.
If Kadri were a UFA this offseason, you couldn’t get him for 4 years $28M.
And next year, you couldn’t sign him for 3/$21M.
The guy looks like the exact same player at 35 than he was at 25. He’s missed one game the last five years, and none as a Flame.
The cap is going to be $113M in two years - Kadri isn’t hurting anyone at $7M.

It is fair to say that at the moment Kadri is the best player on the team.

lol this guy, my post was obviously one point...the mountain of thanks should speak to that. But yeah ride my ass for something I said 3 years ago (that was true at the time)
Players are able to learn and improve you know, Bennett reigned it in just enough like kadri has...its a fine line. Also, like are you new? You really think I feel badly about the last two cup finals? I was cheering for the Panthers so hard it would make Cali blush

This is not accurate at all...7M for Kadri is low with where the cap is
we already know teams wanted him last deadline, he didn't want to move. Also, you are simping for a pedo with that avatar...be better
