Talks about all the scandals- still hasn't confirmed what the scandals are...

Saw someone point out that in his attempt to purge his name from the files, by using a LOT of FBI agents to go thru the files looking for his name, whats probably been generated is a huge spread sheet somewhere now that details every time his name is in those files.

In the Alberta politics thread there was a comment that said anyone who votes CP is vile and scum. Do to the ucp covering up corruption. I'm not a fan of any of the corruption that had found its way into Canadian politics. Yet, the Liberal party of the past 8 years was not immune to it. I don't recall any right wing supporters calling the left side scum or calling for their passports.
There is an ever growing sense of moral superiority being displayed here every day and it rubs me the wrong way. In reality Canadians are almost split 50/50 in what they support. I'm not sure that it is at all helpful to be lobing such crude comments towards the other side. It definitely will not foster unity and progress us Canadians in a healing direction. It reaks of the crap show that the USA has become.

blah blah blah Did you see the size of PPs crowds??? lol
Don't forget your shift for UCP door knocking! hahaha
PP is the biggest piece of kyit in federal politics history. but yeah go door knock for the deplorable.

It’s been over since Nov. 5th of last year. Average American citizens just haven’t realized it yet.

The Trump White House plans to conduct a far-reaching review of Smithsonian museum exhibitions, materials and operations ahead of America's 250th anniversary to ensure the museums align with "Trump's#interpretation of American history."

How does one man even have that much power over such random things. Like the power of the presidency is massive and any perceived checks and balances don't exist. The idea of our Prime Minister being in charge of a museum is pure insanity.

Because the Republicans made him King. He can do whatever the #### he wants. The Democrats are completely useless as well, sometimes quisling-ing their way along for the ride(like voting to confirm insane nominations like RFK jr.).

I can’t imagine who the Dems will run in 2028. Whoever it is has to fight dirty. But so far whoever is mentioned gets picked to the bone.

Still not sure why people think there will be elections in 2028 or mid-terms in 2026.
Or actual legitimate ones at least.

He also hinted at renaming the Kennedy Center to the trump Center...in a weird ham-handed way, as he does. Theres a presser tomorrow for award winners...come on down kid rock! Odds anyone good is announced is pretty slim.
And to how he gets away with it...that whole party is full of cowards and lickspittles. Worried about a mean tweet...craven little babies.

All of them are gutless, on both sides.
We the people are standing up.
Their republican representative is sucking up.
Their democratic representative is shutting up.

I'll say it now, if a bunch of liberal activists, whose ranks are populated with and financed by a foreign left wing authoritarian movement, take over and blockade 1/4 of downtown Edmonton, then purposely disrupt the work and sleep of thousands of people, while the RCMP refuses to do anything to address it, then I will support emergency measures being taken by any level of government to remove the people without physical harm to them. I have no problem if that exact scenario happens and PP / Smith choose to take action.
I also would like to call attention to Fuzz's bull#### narrative a few pages back that there were no accomplishments under Trudeau aside from pot. Leaving the wok stuff aside that I don't particularly care about enough to support it or be upset about it. Among other things, CCB, Paris accords, GIS, expansion of CPP, keeping people afloat through COVID while keeping us somewhat less desiesed than the other side of our giant indefensible boarder, a middle class tax cuts (somehow without feeling the need to cut taxes for the wealthy), a framework for starting dental care, a start to universal childcare, and yes backing off the criminalization of recreational substance use.
I don't think he was the best prime minister, I definitely don't think he was a good politician, he was generally under effective and indecisive, focusing on the wrong problems or taking half measures.
Trudeau was generally lucky that he got to go up against a tired party then two guys who were dumb enough to believe stupid things like trickle down economics while running in a generally intelligent and educated country like Canada, against a credible opponent like 2000s Harper he would have stood no chance. But that doesn't mean he was equally bad as Trump or PP and nor should we accept the rights overblown false narratives as a reason for why we should all eat a #### sandwich.

I don't understand how it is incomprehensible that some people might have reasons to vote for the UCP without being biggited anti socially-liberal a-holes, that must watch rebel news and go door knocking. There are a lot of good people on both sides in this country. Blanket hatred of the outher side and assuming that they all fall into whatever stereotypical image you may have is just plain wrong and says more about you than them.
Maybe I am naive and have lots to learn, but I like to think that I can have a mature conversation with people from all sides and try to be informed on what makes others tik.
Jumping up and down and calling anyone adverse to your voting choice deplorable scum strikes me as childish and hyperbolic.
