Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!

As per usual ...

1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to mid to late August
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Decided the run off would be more interesting than the other option ... graduate Yegorov and then just have a run away day for Lipinski.

If it is a run off I will go with Yegor again. I don't think Lipinski is long for this organization

I loved Lipinski's game. I was a huge fan, but his skating is no where near pro caliber.

Yegorov dressed for 4 teams. 2 different cities. Numbers weren't great, but hopefully a more stable year / more games does him some good.

With Lipinski, he'd have to a phenomenal year for him to warrant an NHL contract / make sense for both sides to get him to the pros next summer. If not, if I understand the NCAA NHL rules correctly, he'll be a UFA after his 2nd year. At least with Yegorov, there is a lot more runway where the Flames have his rights.

It's a shame that Flames don't have the other Russian Yegorov from that draft though. Yegor Zavragin. 3rd round pick. .917 save percentage in 43 games in the KHL as a 19 year old. Flyers might have a gem there.

I don't think either player is long for this team, but at least with Lipinski, you know what you get, and that's a fringe NHLer at best. I don't think much of Yegorov overall, plus he's a goalie and they're hard to project.

Lipinski as the lesser of two evils.

For full disclosure, I had Owen Say in this spot.

YegorČ

Only because he's still got some runway and goalies take time.

If Lipinski can get his skating up to snuff, he actually has a lot of NHL-translatable qualities. He’s huge (6’4”), has snarl and physicality, defensive acumen, and faceoff skill. I think he could possibly make a serviceable NHL center in a defensive role.
