finished the story of Death Stranding 2 and quite enjoyed it. I felt they improved several aspects of the gameplay (the DHV Magellan and the monorails were especially fun additions). To me, the story, while still bloated and convoluted, was easier to follow than in the first one. Some things were quite predictable, but it was still enjoyable. The last few hours were absolutely wild, even for Kojima truly epic stuff. Post-credit scene also sets up a potential third game.
It's not perfect, but a very solid sequel. For a Kojima game, it almost felt a bit ... I don't know. Safe? Tame? Probably sounds too negative, as I still really enjoyed the game. Graphics and soundtrack an easy 10/10, and I really liked the cast and most of the new characters. Like the first game, it obviously won't be for everyone, but if you liked the first one, you'll surely enjoy this one as well.
I'll now use the platinum grind to bridge the time before Ghost of Yotei drops.
I feel like our taste in games and how we play them aligns really well.
What are your top ten over the last few years? Curious if you’d rank any I might have missed (if you don’t mind sharing).

alphabetically (so I don't have to open another can of worms with my ranking of TLOU2 ):
A Plague Tale (Innocence & Requiem)
Death Stranding 1 & 2
Detroit Become Human
Ghost of Tsushima
Hollow Knight
Horizon Zero Dawn & Forbidden West
Red Dead Redemption 2
Resident Evil (throwing the whole series in here)
The Last of Us II
Until Dawn
the big ones, essentially. A Plague Tale probably the most "obscure" ones on the list.

I mentioned it above but I preordered it because it was only $60.
So far I'm liking it. I think I'm on chapter 6 right now. It's not as open world as other Mafia games but there's supposed to be an explore mode that carries over everything you find into the main game. And there supposed to be expanding on it via free update.
There's been a mix of gun fights and stealth missions. Knife fights are kind of fun. So far I've got into probably 3 or 4 of them.
I'm on chapter 4 or 5 right now and enjoying it quite a lot. The stealth missions are irksome but mainly because I'm the type of gamer who prefers going in guns blazing. I'm adjusting pretty quickly to having to stealth, though.

lol I was going to clarify I didn’t need them ranked, so glad you didn’t! Can confirm we enjoy the same games.
Haven’t checked out Plague Tale or Until Dawn though, so I’ll definitely dig into those.

The only thing is it's supposed to be 13-15 hours. That's fine for me because I don't need every game to be 30-40+ hours long but some people might not like that. You can get the other Mafia games for pretty cheap though.
I think 15ish hours is decent. Wouldn't call that short. I'm a couple hours in, just met that cutie in the garden and got told off by the old dude.
Might dive into the remakes/remasters after I finish Old Country.
I played the Battlefield 6 Open Beta over the weekend and had a pretty good time with it. I've been a CoD player over the years, but I think I'll switch to BF6 this year. Black Ops 6 really turned me off CoD titles altogether. The glaring push for microtransactions was super disappointing. I deleted the game when they made ads for their microtransactions a part of the loadout screen.... just gross.
Which... to be honest, is the only thing keeping me from preordering BF6 given EA is at the helm. Going to wait and see on this one.
