Everything else is fair game imo and Montreal did an extremely good job getting behind Victoria from the very first match

Why can’t tennis players handle some noise? Batters in baseball put up with heckling and noise. If fans must be quiet then players should stop grunting too.

ADF won the first set in a tie-break and was up 4-love in set 2 when he hit the wall physically. Joao Fonseca advances via retirement 6-7 5-4 (ret).

I'm sure they can handle it but its disrespectful considering it's not the norm. Theres a reason the chair umpire tells the crowd not to make noise in between 1st and 2nd serve.

Again, what’s the reason? Other athletes have to cope with crowd noise.

Why aren't you supposed to yell out when a golfer swings? Or when a bowler throws the ball? Some sports just have a history of quiet spectating from the beginning, and so one person screaming in the midst of silence is much more distracting than the constant general crowd noise of a baseball or hockey game.
Maybe if you could change the etiquette instantly such that people were just always making noise during a match, the players would be forced to adapt, but that's just not gonna happen, so the only realistic choice is to stick with the current norm.

Yeah, it's just been part of the tradition of tennis throughout the years to be respectful and quiet during the serve and that includes during 1st and 2nd serve. The one exception to that is the Davis Cup, but the players seem to accept and recognize that there will be noise when they are serving.
As far as the Montreal crowd is concerned, I thought they were fine. You will always have a few yahoos that want to be the center of attention and spoil things, but overall it was good. Compared to US Open crowds when Serena was playing or French Open crowds when a French player is on court, that crowd was nothing.

Shapo succumbed to the Cincy heat earlier this afternoon losing to Luca Nardi in three sets. He was visibly cramping and bending over repeatedly, but just couldn't get over the line today.

I was curious and google informed me that 37 deuces at the 1975 Surrey Championships at Surbiton (grass tourney). Tony Fawcett vs. Keith Glass.

You definitely want to be the returner in those long deuce games.

Felix gets Rinderknech this morning while Gabe gets the primetime treatment in Cincy as he takes on Jannik Sinner.

Badosa has withdrawn from the US Open so currently Victoria would be the 22nd seed and Leylah 29th. That may change depending on Cincinnati, more so for Leylah than Victoria.
It's important to 24th and above, avoid 1-8 in the 3rd round.

Man Diallo had a chance to take Sinner to a 3rd set but way too many errors in this match. He’s having a fantastic year but he needs to clean up the unforced errors as you can’t be making 49 errors against the best player in the world and expect to win.

I don't think guys that are Diallo's height will ever be very clean ball strikers, but it's hard to tell how much of that messiness was Sinner intimidation factor. Carrot is getting to the point where he walks on court already a set up because of the fear his game inspires.

I think that was the case of the first set where Diallo looked out of sorts but he regained his form in the 2nd set but still dumped a lot of routine forehands into the net which is something he can't afford to do against any players in the top 50. That match really should have gone into a 3rd set if he makes some routine shots.
