It's a flagship show of a very big podcast network, owned and primarily populated by former Obama staffers, as it was originally founded during the 2016 election cycle when they were all being laid off has he wound down his administration.
In general they are very left leaning, but also very honest. So you can trust what they have to say and factual and accurate, but they don't always do the best job of representing the median voter.

Scores of federal agents fanned out across Washington, D.C., on Sunday night after President Trump promised a swift crackdown on crime and homelessness in the nation's capital.
Washington, D.C., has seen declining crime rates in recent years,#with violent crime hitting a 30-year low in 2024, according to the U.S. Justice Department.
At one intersection, a minor traffic accident between a car and a moped brought at least two dozen agents running, some wearing masks and one carrying a rifle. Local D.C. Metropolitan police were also on scene.

I better get danger pay for working in DC... Sure, I live here and it's wonderful, but if Trump is going to describe it like a Mad Max hellscape, and then at the same time force me into the office 5 days a week, I want fataing danger pay!

They're liberals, not left. Increasingly distinct things even in US politics.

A quote from his presser 'Im announcing an historic action to rescue our nations capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor...and worse.'
Whats worse than those first four things? Is it a racist felon pedophile living in the White House? That seems worse.

Interesting, typically when I say Left/Right, I am referring to taking a side in politics.
I have for a could of years accused the right of no longer being conservative, and saying that we should stop saying conservative, because they are actively engaged in a program of destroying institutions with a disinvestment mind set that will cost us all a lot more in the long run (which I have framed as anti-conservative, but fiscally and socially for the the destruction of social infrastructure and the financial short-termism).
I could find ways to levy similar critiques of the left, I'd say these guys are left wing partisans that hold a lot of liberal values, but realistically holding Liberal values in the US could put you right of the Ontario PCs in Canada (and maybe the Alberta PCs of the 90s/00s). So they are excessively Liberal, but they are definitely unambiguous about schilling for the Left wing of the political spectrum (not saying it's a bad thing, just saying they are open about who they are)

Whatever is in those Epstein files must be brutal for him.
Everything he’s doing now including taking over DC is nothing but a distraction.

When the norm now is the 'extreme right' on the political spectrum, from their perspective, everything is 'left' - including the majority of people, who are actually centrist. So calling them 'left' is a matter of perspective, but far from actually being accurate.

Trump: Curbing exports of American top end chips to China is necessary to protect American national security and technological leadership and prevent technology theft!
Also Trump: If chip makers give me 15% of their sales to China we'll allow it.
I guess that money to cover everything in the White House with gold has to come from somewhere.

Anything to distract from the Epstein stuff. Crime was actually already way down in DC including violent crime.
Pedophile rapists though, those are okay.

So Trump isn't even hiding his authoritarian nature anymore? He's rounding out all the homeless people and getting them all out of sight so the world doesn't have to see them? That's some North Korean tactics.
Next, you'll tell me he cheats at sports to make himself look good. Wait...
What's crazy is MAGA is happy to go on this journey with him. Again, nothing matters as long as their side wins I guess.

Anymore?
He built a concentration camp in Florida last month.
Like, this whole cleaning up DC thing is ridiculous, but it's not even close to top authoritarian things he's done.
But this does bring up another wonderful contradiction of the evangelical right. I'm sure they'll applaud this move.
Trump is saying getting rid of the homeless will clean up all the crime in DC.
Okay, let's say that's true. If you can get rid of all the crime in DC by getting rid of homeless people, then the answer isn't "Move them somewhere else".
The answer is do something so they aren't homeless anymore.
But that sounds like some woke leftist BS.

The police chasing homeless people out of places is a national sport in the US, but also in many other countries unfortunately. Rounding them up, putting them in prisons or forced labor camps, physically driving them out of town etc etc.
Yeah, despite being common it's also extremely gross and unethical, and so incredibly stupid considering this is a solved problem.
Finland long since calculated that by far the cheapest way to deal with homelessness is to start by putting roofs over their heads, and then went on to do just that, and presto. Very little homelessness, and even fewer problems caused by homeless people, saving much more money than the cheapass places we give homeless people cost.)
(Of course our current extremely right wing government is effing up all of it, but just because they're extremely corrupt and also really stupid and ignorant doesn't make this any less of a solved problem.)

I think the most disgusting part of America isn't Donald Trump, it's that so many are complicit in enabling him to be horrible. He truly believes he his serving those who surround him. From the halls of congress to the trailer park to Hollywood to the churches to Wall Street, there has never been a more vile abandonment of basic principles of humanity in the service of...what the #### are they even achieving?
It's like when an insect gets that parasitic worm that takes over all control of the body.

While I generally agree with the enablers etc, there's nothing to indicate he thinks he's serving anyone but himself.

It's a toe in the water for using the National Guard as his own force. Especially in big blue cities.
DC isn't even close to a top crime city any more. If he was serious about that they'd be in St. Louis or Kansas City.

No, I think he does a lot of things that serve those immediately around him. They tell him he's doing a great job to get what they want, so he believes people actually like his decisions. It's one thing to think you are perfect and doing everything perfectly, it's another to have others also convince you that you have done great things for them. There was a brief video moths ago from the cabinet table with everyone telling him how awesome he is. He believes he is serving them.
