Got the S95F mounted and set up over the weekend.
The change from a QLED to an OLED is massive. Movies have never looked better, and gaming on the PS5 pro is incredible.

We watched a few movies in 4K (Se7en, Shawshank, Shaun of the Dead), and the level of detail, especially in dark scenes, is amazing to see.

My old TV was ~5 years old and still in great shape, but the technology shift to OLED is a gamechanger. I'm blown away.

True Black is a game changer. Especially now that movies / TV shows are going all in on dark scenes.

Such an annoying trend. It makes watching certain scenes in shows nearly impossible in brighter rooms, and that's even with a good HDR set.

So I have a 55" LG from Costco that I bought in 2017. It works great, amazing picture, but since I no longer have cable I rely on the apps (netflix, etc), which I've installed via the LG store.
The issue is that the SoC definitely wasn't designed to handle the 2025 version of the apps, and I've had times where I've had to hard reboot the TV just to get Netflix not to crash.

I'm trying to decide whether I should spring for a new Samsung like mentioned above, or just find a good box from which to run all the streaming apps.

Thoughts?

Get a Google Chromecast/Streamer or whatever they call it now if you want something cheap that works well. Or get an Nvidia Shield if you want the best streaming experience possible and is also pretty decent at light gaming
