Darwin Núñez has completed his departure from Liverpool after his switch to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal was confirmed.

The 26-year-old Uruguay striker has finalised the move for a fee sources told ESPN was worth €53 million ($62m)

The Anfield club said: "Liverpool FC can confirm Darwin Núñez has completed a permanent transfer to Al-Hilal, subject to international clearance.

Part of the thing I find unbelievable in the transfer market, is how some clubs get enormous money for players that are so mediocre. Case in point is Nunez. Like really…5 goals and 2 assists last year and you guys sold him for €50m?! I know it’s the Saudis, but that’s ridiculous.

You think the team who wins the dinner plate goes into the locker room and eats fish and chips off it? Kind of the UK version of drinking beer out of the Stanley Cup.

More like eating Morleys or tasty jerk off it

Surprised how good palace looked today. Maybe it's as simple as them taking it more seriously, but I expected them to get blown away and I actually thought both liverpool goals were very lucky, etikike shot it right at kamada and got a bit lucky with the meg and frimpong completely fluked out. That said both teams were terrible in the pens and that'll be palace's last taste of glory this year probably with them unfairly getting booted out of uefa cup tomorrow to bring them back to reality

Still no major silverware in 120 years and 2 cups in 3 or 4 months is pretty epic even if it is the shield

Citeh close to selling Savinho to Tottenham for over 50m after "buying" him from their sister club for a meager 20m only a year ago. Wrong on so many levels.

Multiple ownership is wrong, no question. You would think that the powers that be would step in and rectify those situations, but at the same time, we can't really be surprised.

Also, thrilled if we do get Savinho. I won't be getting too excited until we have something concrete though, because we have had too many deals look promising and fall apart for one reason or another (which generally means money).

Questions the Nunez fee previously, excited to spend more on a player with virtually the same output as Nunez. Homerism is a hell of a drug lol. I know, I know, potential and all that, but also he hasn't proven much so far.

Sure, and Savinho is years younger and plays a different role?

And he's also proven nothing to be worth the likely fee. Might end up decent, but what will probably be close to €70m all-in is still pretty puzzling. But the market is what it is now, today's €70m was yesterday's €30m.

The multi club groups are totally despicable... the worst part is the club who get penalized for FFP and multi club breaches are always smaller teams and the workarounds the mega rich do are a total joke, these blind trusts to pretend they are arm's length are an insult to anyone's intelligence - Palace then get kicked out of europa after earning it on the field, and aren't even truly in a multi club group.

UEFA, EPL and FIFA are just total scumbags who cowtow to the rich - and resist any logical calls to meaningfully punish teams like Chelsea and City, while going after the Evertons and Palaces of the world for minor transgressions.

Palace had sleazy textor trying it for years, but he only had one/four votes on the board and got shutdown by the other owners and wasn't allowed to do any of the deals, then he sells up well before europa even starts, but Palace get kicked out for a technicality of him having owned 43% of shares (despite only 25% of votes) at the deadline. All while farcical scumbags like the Forest owner do dodgy deals and pretend they aren't in conflict with pretend blind trusts.
