That HR looked like a pop fly into foul territory, but stayed fair and was just long enough. Lame.

Bassitt has too many pitches that miss in the worst way possible for me to trust him to start a playoff game in a short series. He has below average stuff and when he misses, it’s just batting practice. He can’t get away with mistakes and he’s made too many of them.

Sure, he’s a command only guy, and depending on the ballpark and weather maybe he’s the 4th starter. His last couple starts were great.
But only given up 3 runs tonight. Meanwhile the Jays have only 3 hits through 6.

Jays are getting kicked in the teeth this series.
If only that sharp line drive by Straw got by Betts yesterday. Things might be different.

3 runs in just four and two thirds isn’t very good. Two homers isn’t great either.
Yes, it’s the Dodgers but we are going to be playing quality teams in the playoffs and I don’t really think he is good enough anymore to risk starting against guys who will crush his mistakes.

Second game in a row too they let the Dodgers starter off the hook early. Kershaw more last night but they had chances against Snell and blew it.

Help, save, whatever.

Why isn't Barger playing? Important series and they rest him or he's hurt?

Meh it’s fine, the next 4 outs after he left, the Dodgers got 6 runs. Muncys HR is not a home run in any ball park other than here. And one to Ohtanhi.
Clement France and Kennedy as the only Jays with hits. Jays are getting bullied.

Jays hitters struck out 14 times in all tonight. That stinks.

The Jays are pretenders who had a super hot month. Too many bums in the line up to compete with the big boys

I like their chances today. Dodgers are a tough team. This isn't surprising.

The Jays have the 2nd best record in baseball against teams over .500

My guess, Manoah is in the minors for the rest of the season,
Beiber will however get some starts, really curious what he can do with the Jays

I suspect that Beiber's first few starts could be a bit like Max Scherzer's were after he rejoined the rotation off the early season injury.
We are starting to see Max come around and pitch more like say a 2-3 guy in the rotation in his last 3 starts. If he was to keep this up for the balance of the season and the Jays do make the playoffs...he might be the guy you consider starting in one of the first two games.
So if that goes down, there really isn't enough time left in this season for Bieber to make much of an impact.

Most likely outcome but my point is they have highest upside. Highest variance too probably
But I feel those two have most upside. Seattle tigers nyy probably better starters than us in playoff foemaf.

What order do you have the starters in for the playoffs? Lauer has the best ERA, WHIP, and W-L record - I think he has to be in the conversation for starting one of the first three games.
I think right now I'd go Gauzman, Lauer, Berrios, Scherzer, but I could go either way on the 3/4 slots. And if Gauzman doesn't have his stuff on his start pull him early and put in Bassitt for a few to bridge to the pen.
Edited to add: hopefully Bieber makes a good push for playoff starter, but clearly TBD.

Where it sits today....I wouldn't change what you have. But they do lack that number one ace at the top. So if Scherzer kept picking like he has the last 3 starts for his next 7...I might look to put him at 1 and Gausman at 3. But that's a bit of a longshot
