Didn't most trucks of that era only have the bench seat and no second row?
Looking at the pic Sliver posted, he needs the biggest and most ridiculous wheel well cover with a "+" shaped front grille for the front and really make aim for a look where someone might do a double take to see if they're being chased by a storm trooper.

Sure, and the picture shows what it is. But it also shows the smallest truck Ford sells today is essentially the same dimensions as a 2 class size bigger truck from the 90's. The smallest full size is the same as the "compact".

And it's 6 inches longer than my dad's 1988 Dodge Ram

4 door trucks in 1988 were also longer than your dad’s Dodge Ram.

Agreed.
The other thing I was wondering about was that the truck looks like it's around 6' tall due to the fence? I don't know if my memory off, but I seem to recall a lot of guys being around a head taller and have to duck in when they got into those older compact trucks?

My S-10(1994 body style change year) has plenty of head room. It's waaaay easier to get in and out of than a Model 3, for instance. Idon't remember the Rangers of that gen being bad either. Tacoma's stand out, and they are still bad for that. Buddy had a Nissan hard body, and he was tall, don't remember it being an issue.

A more direct comparison would be to do the full size from then and now, in the same style. So....
https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/com...units=imperial
It's bigger in every way.

Come on Pepsi...it's Friday. We don't need to be like that on a Friday. Clearly the discussion is around truck sizes in general, and how they've grown. Nothing is invalid with what Hemi-Cuda is saying. You can get as pedantic as you want, but it doesn't change the reality that a compact pickup today is a similar size as a common full size from the 80's. And absolutely dwarfed by the same truck style full size today. And no, it doesn't have 4 doors, but the Maverick doesn't have a 6.5' box.

The only things I am truly passionate about are pageantry and pedantry.
I know you hate big beefy trucks but can we not just have one conversation celebrating Sliver’s beautiful new little rocket without it turning into a whole “hrmph, trucks so big now!”
We get it, trucks are bigger. That’s bad. This one is small by basically every measure, modern or otherwise, so I think we can all acknowledge that it is small without caveat. It’s not 1988 any more. You’re talking about a time before 2/3rds of the world’s population was even born. Things change.
Think of all the clay this could haul in a beautiful tiny package.

So... it's less about how big it is and how he uses it?
The way he took the photo also makes it look bigger than expected?

I only shared the comparison tool because Sliver said there is no way, which I had thought too. #TRUCKFACTS
It does have a few hundred pound more payload, so ya, more clay!

You know what’s also crazy? In 1988 men were on average 2 inches shorter than they are today.

What's installed in the bed? It looks like what I would need to haul 4x8 sheets and still have a bed cover.
