It is an interesting conversation. We likely know what McTavish is now. Reschny projects to be a 2nd line center if all goes well.
But the part that makes me hesitate is the potential I believe is higher than McTavish. I would really hate to trade away a player and he surprises and becomes a first line center or an elite 2nd line center.
I don't think I would do it for Reschny.

Totally fair, Rhett. I see a 90-point, first-line C in McTavish that can go up against the other teams top center- when he hits his prime. It would really hurt to give up a player like Reschny though, who might be a big steal.

That is interesting, I have not followed McTavish much but talking to a few die hard Ducks fans they don't believe he will become a 1st liner. What a few fans think means very little, but his coach Cronin last year called him a 3rd liner as well.
While that coach is now fired, and maybe he is an idiot, I usually tend to trust what hockey people say who watch the player every day. I have only seen a few games of his.

Again, that’s totally fair. I’m really familiar with this kid, and I really believe he’s a true leader, and a winner. Even if he never reaches 90 points, he’ll be a valuable playoff performer and a contributor to his team winning. At age 19, he posted 43 points in 80 games, followed by 42 in 64, and 52 in 76- mostly from the third-line on a bottom-feeder.
Obviously, I’m a bigger Mason McTavish fan than most, lol.

Feel like Anaheim doesn’t do that trade. Could see if flames added a 2nd round pick, maybe.

If McTavish is available you have to be in there.
I see alot of similarities (career wise) with Kadri. McTavish is slightly more skilled and more physical but Kadri gets under the opposition's skin wayyyy more.
Without a doubt he has 1C potential and his floor is a very very good 2C on a championship team.
You pay what you need to other than your core 3-4 players (Wolf, Parekh and Coronato).

Instead of Minty or Z, how about Stian Solberg? Think Flames still have to add a bit more though.

Package deal - I like it!
But based on previous info provided, probably not McTavish/Zary based. But if like a frost/Farabee deal, lesser names but maybe more pieces involved, hence the multiple pieces being packed/packaged
Also, can’t see verbeek giving up on McTavish before he sees how he does under Quenneville. Would be foolish not to but verbeek has done some head scratching things.
Anyone on the gulls roster that stands out prospect wise? Sandman?
