Out of all the dumb sh*t calgarygeologist has posted over the years that exchange might be the most pathetic thing yet. Like Pepsi said, a pathetic level of boot licking.

Governor Dani has Government staff helping the MAGA preacher complete his application to use Legislature grounds for what is essentially a Pro-Trump concert featuring MAGA values and talking points

This isn't a trade barrier, it's really more of a trade fence. A trade bollard at worst.

Come on guys, give calgarygeologist some credit.
He provided a quote that succinctly proved his point.
Should it matter that it only does so if he only used a completely literal reading of a small fragment of an actual quote that, when taken in whole, expresses the exact opposite sentiment and meaning he was trying to assign to the quote.
Of course not.
He has successfully owned you, the libs.
You're owned!

Cue the Alberta government threatening to take over professional bodies and interfering in this.

I know you’re jesting (at least a little) but the Law Society is very strict at enforcing the Code of Conduct (unless you work at a big firm with a couple of benchers).

“This policy is so bad that it’s actually worse than their usual failure to plan properly,” said James Talbot, the province’s former chief medical officer of health. “In fact, it is so bad it looks like they are actually planning to fail.”
Here are the three basic tenets of any successful public health program: make it available, make it accessible and make it affordable. Smith turns all three upside down.
Perversely Smith’s new rules, crafted with zero public consultation and taking effect this month, will make less vaccine available for fewer people in fewer locations with more bureaucracy to wrangle with.
And unlike every other province and territory, Alberta will charge those most vulnerable for the vaccine.

Between this and the RFK announcement, I think we can safely state that modern conservatism - if you can call it that - is now effectively a death cult.
But hey, kids won't be exposed to books with gay characters!

Hands down the most embarrassing province in the country right now, thanks to this dips*** government. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even tell people I’m from there anymore.

So 700 000 people want the vaccine but the province will only provide enough for 480 000? Once again, the party of "freedom" shows us they just mean freedom for those who agree with them.
Clearly the UCP's agenda is not to improve healthcare in our province, or even continue to provide it at the level it was at. Team Blue voters who aren't on board with the crazy really need to do some soul searching before they cast their next vote. This is on you.

Watching some large C conservatives (decades-long blue voters I know) twist in the wind and justify this government's policies and positions as they've eroded over the last 20 years, just because they are blue, is not just cringeworthy - it's actually really sad. Smart, educated people falling for this #### too. Doubling down instead of taking a step back and looking at this all logically.

There are some good examples here. calgarygeologist comes to mind.
It seems to me that for so many decades, Liberals (and non-classical liberals) were systematically demonized by a very rich and powerful industry. It happened for so long in Alberta with very little or no pushback that many people just started to associate the L-word (no, not that one) with bad intentions for Albertans to the point where for a lot of people, it's not even a question if the Liberals are evil...they just are. It's even become a belief passed-down through generations, like a religion. It becomes easier to believe that most of the things that Liberals (and liberals) do is to hurt Albertans and it becomes harder to lift the veil and see the truth.
Liberals (and liberals) are sometimes right and sometimes wrong. Sometimes they work in Alberta's best interest and sometimes they work against Alberta's best interest. They do this with every province but Alberta is the only one that has a multi-billion dollar industry actively campaigning against them year after year and make so many people think and act like victims.
It's sad to see so many people who are otherwise relatively smart and reasonable fall for the propaganda drummed up by corporate greed and effectively work against their and their community's best interests.

narrator voice "They did not do any soul searching. The best they could so was announce that they were holding their noses while voting UCP". We simply CANNOT have another lightbulb fiasco in this province.
