Development camp starts tomorrow. Hopefully someone is staked out at the YYC to watch for him.

I saw Bingo's mention of Yegor Yegorov's potential in one of the prospect rankings so I decided to post his reaction after the draft. I figured it's just something to talk about in July.
Here are some of his quotes: - I had discussions with a few clubs, but I didn't expect to get drafted.
- I wasn't watching the draft. A few minutes before I was picked I got a message from a Calgary scout. He told me to wait, and that I will be picked next.
- I talked with other clubs, but most of my discussions were with Calgary. They showed the most interest.
He just started his training camp with Dynamo at the start of July
- Training camp is important both from a hockey perspective and a team perspective. It's very important to unite the players on both the junior and the pro team.
- Where will I be playing? junior or pro? Well that question isn't up to me.
- I still have a 2 year contract in Dynamo. First of all, I need to get stronger in Russia, become a pro player, and a mainstay with the big club, then I can start thinking about the NHL.
- I try to concentrate on my work, give myself to my craft, but most importantly just play.

Sounds like there's a possibility Yegorov plays in North America (the NCAA or USHL) this season, as the Flames are trying to secure a release from his Russian club.
(per Jordan Sigalet interview on Sportsnet 960)

I don't speak Russian, but assuming his name translates to Yegor of Yegor. Can't get much Yegory than that.

The "ov" suffix is usually means that a person is a descendent, in this case of someone also named Yegor.

EliteProspects.com lists him with Khimik Voskresensk of the VHL for the 2025-26 season, which is a different team than the one he played with briefly last season.
Hopefully he will get an opportunity to play a lot.

VHL is the Russian equivalent to the AHL. Basically the farm league for the KHL.

I want him to make the show so badly for the legendary name and the jokes and memes it would generate.

Ray Edwards and Sigalet said the Flames were trying to get Yegorov to North America this year. Guess that's not happening

I thought Conroy said Yegorov needs more time in Russia because of the language. Working on English but isn't there yet.

That was Zarubin. According to Sigalet, Yegorov speaks English very well

Learning another language isn't easy, but if you really want to be a pro, make some coin, and have a shot at the NHL, i find it surprising that he doesn't take initiative himself or wasn't pushed by agent to sign up with LanguageBird or something.

Could be a case of the Yegorov being squeezed out by the sudden influx of Major Junior players into the NCAA, and only so many USHL spots available.
Yegorov doesn't turn 20 until August 30. Still plenty of runway, especially for a goaltender.

Yegorov is on the Chemists' training camp roster, which suggests that's where he'll be this season. The MHL team had five goalies on their camp roster as of two weeks ago, which is too many goalies.
