My hatred for the Canadiens has been growing nicely these past few years. They act like their team had an 82-0 season when they had fewer points than the Flames.
And no one on the Flames even played that well except maybe Wolf.
Slafkovsky is one of the worst #1 picks in recent memory. Montembeault is almost 30 and has a career sub 90%. Suzuki, Hutson, and Caufield are all tiny. Demidov was outproduced in the KHL by Alexander Nikishin, a defenseman. The organization generally lacks size, physically, and defensive ability.
They don't have as many scumbags as the Oilers, but getting guys like Mailloux (now gone) and Dach says a lot.

yeah it seems like the media are already annointing them as champs, much like the Oilers, not if but how many future cups. apparently Hutson is already better than Makar and Hughes

With retention it's not a bad acquisition if you have the talent to pair him with already on your roster.

I don't see it. Even if Calgary retained half his contract, and it is doubtful Calgary will retain 30 million dollars, you still have a guy that is signed until he is 38 with one decent season in the last three years.
Considering how long it took him to get comfortable in Calgary, that is a really risky contract to take on. Add the full NMC and I would be very surprised to see him moved.

I applaud your hatred of the Canadians. But a majority of the Flames roster played well. It is why we finished so much higher then projected. Really, Andersson and Sharongovich were the only ones you could say struggled. Meanwhile Kadri, Huberdeau, Weegar, Bahl, Coronato, Wolf, etc all had really good years.

I guess you are too young but after 86 and 89 how can anyone not hate the Canadiens.

That is a very logical viewpoint. However with the cap going up the contract is less of a hindrance especially with retention. And if a team can get more wins with him in the short term and save a GMs job, then there’s a chance he gets moved. I can see Huby open to moving back east for travel considerations alone.

The Ducks have made alot of moves to bolster their group. Its seems like they're done scrapping bottom.
I could see them being interested in a long term backend leader in Rasmus.

Throw the kitchen sink at this if he is available. Exactly what this team needs. Anyone not named Parekh,Wolf,Weegar.
Pospisil just signed not likely to be traded, scoronato same thing.
Gould i see Klapka being a piece? Yup. Would it hurt? Yup.
I would expect this is more if a hockey deal. Want another first from Andersson but if he is a cog to get a center i will help him pack.
