Brutal day to be a Twins fan.
Gone this deadline period:#Carlos Correa,#Jhoan Duran,#Griffin Jax,#Louis Varland,#Danny Coulombe,#Harrison Bader,#Willi Castro,#Brock Stewart#and#Chris Paddack. That's nine players off the 26-man roster, including the back end of a championship-caliber bullpen.#

#### the Yankees and all, but also automatically put them in the World Series purely for the comedy. Funniest team I can remember.

The Rockies were down 9-0 before they even came up to bat.
Won 17-16

The Yankees being the funniest team ever also coincides with them being the dumbest team ever. Must see TV every game.

This speedway game being played in rain like this is a bit of a joke. Friedl's bat goes flying and he immediately looks at the umpire as if to say "are we actually doing this?"
Someone might get hurt. Nuts. Not a good look for MLB.
I do like the car noise at 100 mph pitches, though.

That may hold true if the ball was hit to another part of the shallow outfield, but right behind second? If you watch the one replay of the lead he got out to (to get doubled off from), even if the ball dropped intentionally, no way he gets to second in time before a force out.

After the game Chisholm said he wouldn't have done anything different on that play. And Boone came out and said he likes Chisholms "aggressive" baserunning. There is zero accountability with any of that bunch. And on a nightly basis they do something embarrassing. It's hilarious. Especially with their meal ticket being out the last couple of weeks. Everyone can see what a bunch of clowns that team is.

In his 47th career start the decline finally starts for Paul Skenes. He gave up more than 6 hits for the first time in his career giving up 7 in 6 innings. He didn't give up any runs or walk anyone, and got the rare win as the Pirates finally gave him some run support. He did struggle only striking out 8.
It's unfortunate that no one ever gets to see this guy pitch with how dominant he is. Teams might be building a war chest to sign him for when he's a free agent.

He's getting traded before he's a free agent.
Start building up that prospect pool Blue Jays...so you can trade it all for Skenes.
After this season he has 4 more years of team control in Pittsburgh, and I'd bet that he's traded after 2 of them (offseason after the 2027 season).

I have to assume Boone is trying to get fired by continuing to put Devin Williams out there. Or they are in league on an elaborate match fixing scam. Either way, the fact they changed the old facial hair policy partial for Williams is the cherry on the comedy cake of the Yankees season.

Boston traded 2 top 100 league wide propsects plus two other propsects for Garrett Crochet with 2 years of team control left. Skenes is probably a bit more expensive and the Jays have no prospect ranked as high league wide as what the Sox gave up.
An equivalent Jays package would be something like Nimmala, Yesavage, Tiedeman, Bloss.
I'd do it.

Me too.
I'd probably potentially add what ever propsects they take the next two drafts too.
Skenes is that good, and would still only be 26 years old at that time (if he's traded in 2 years)

I would guess it's somewhere between 99.1 and 99.9% likely he ends up on the Dodgers. Skenes is from SoCal, Dodgers have a top tier farm system and obviously an unlimited budget. I guess the Padres can never be counted out with Preller the GOAT of "#### them prospects", but also they probably won't have enough prospects to get it done since Preller just keeps on trading them.
