There's the way it would impact the team and his career, if he was forced to retire like Ferland, which would suck. Lotta life left after hockey too.
It's why I cringe every time I see Rempe going crazy on the ice. Head trauma is no joke.

Not much to hate about the deal, especially since it eats up 2 UFA years. Just hope he can stay healthy.

Good deal, great player who IMO is an important piece on this team going forward.

Heck yes! One of my favorite Flames. His puck pursuit, and hard work help make each line he's put on more effective. The contract is already a bargain but if he finds some more offense it will be a steal.
I'm very glad to have him as a part of the core for 4 more years.

Now that he's locked up for 3 years on a good contract, his value is even higher, include him in even more trade proposals!

Considering the cap will be like 104 million when this deal kicks in (around 2.4%of the cap and decreasing) It's like a guy making 940k back in 05/06 when the cap first went into effect. Going forward I imagine this will be the type of salary guys off ELC's who are established regulars will earn.
It's a nice raise, but it's still pretty cheap.

Hard to hate this deal. Not too long, not too much money and the player is likely to fulfill or exceed his value over the duration. Good signing for Conroy and co.

I love how Conroy is identifying players he wans to keep and signing them early. This contract likely doesn't go down next off season but could have gone way up if he waited.
Pospisil's speed is such an x-factor. He will be very valuable when this team starts to make the playoffs.

Not surprised this is your view now that he's locked in as a Flame long term! I'M KIDDING!
Pospisil is one of my favorite players despite him not really being consistent yet in his game. I love his physical style of play and I think he's shown he has talent to come with it too. He's just navigating carefully how to play right on the line, which he has to do to be effective, and once he does, he'll settle into finding consistency.

I think Martin Pairs well with alot of other players on this team making him way more valuable than some other players and then add the nuclear deterrent factor and he's awesome.
Here's my wish....,He and Farabee and whoever else is on thst line becomes a wrecking machine of rectal discomfort for all other teams

I can’t think of another forward who adds as much as he does to scoring lines without putting up points himself. Very unique player.
The JFresh tweet on this signing is hilarious but I haven’t figured out how to embed those.

Nor can I but agreed it's funny
"Martin Pospisil, signed to a 3x$2.5M extensions by CGY, is a bottom six forwards who plays a unique and unhinged game featuring blazing speed, maximum hitting, solid playmaking and crummy finishing."
Yup that's about right.
