Default NHL.TV moving to DAZN

For those of us outside Canada and USA (and the Nordics) it has been announced that NHL.TV will be moving to the DAZN network from the beginning of this season.

Never used this service before, anyone have any idea what it's like?

I've been trying to work out if you pay one subscription and get everything, or just the sport you subscribe to, it's not very clear, which isn't a great start imo.

In Canada you pay for the whole thing and happen to get what you really want as part of that.

No a la carte.

ie: I can't just subscribe to NFL Game Pass through DAZN

Will they be showing just select games, or can you watch pretty much any game on-demand (aside from blackouts)? Also, do you need a VPN to use the service in Canada?

I am just wondering if this would be a good alternative to giving your money to Rogers instead.

I like DAZN for soccer & football. If I can get my NHL on DAZN that would be rad.

But sounds like its only for outside Canada. Lame.

The service is a lot better than it was a few years ago. The first few years of NFL football was painful and unwatchable at times but it's been a lot better the past few years to the point I don't have a lot of complaints.

Reading the article it appears we will be getting the same service via DAZN as NHL.TV, which is all games, including the playoffs/SC, with the exception of any games being shown on local providers, which will be blacked out. So for the UK that is any game on Premier Sports. Thankfully they rarely choose Flames games

Watching on an Apple TV is a joy. 4 NFL games all at once.

Never going back

Does it still launch ads when you flip from game to game? That was a nuisance.

Biggest complaint is that they show their own ads before the stream starts up. I think this past NFL season there were 2 pre-roll ads when first starting the stream, and occasionally when switching to another feed, super frustrating for a paid product.

Yeah but I'll take that over the stuttering frame rates and slow feeds of the early years.

I still get hit or miss feeds on DAZN. Sometimes its clear, other times its a blurry mess. For example, NFL Network tends to come in nicely, but the Hard Knocks episodes look like 480p.

I remember when it was really bad the excuse used to be all the servers were in Europe. If that was indeed the case, NHL.TV users should be fine overseas.

Just waiting for the email to let us know how much its going up by. Been pretty steady for a few years, but a new supplier probably means a higher subscription.

Let’s hope they don’t go all Sportsnet on us.

This is perfect! and completely answers my question on what to do now that I cancelled SN+.

The IPTV service I use has all the DAZN channels, haven't used them yet! So, looking forward to seeing how it works when the season starts.

Only thing that will probably be annoying - is the delay. It was the same with SN+, I'd get notifications faster on my phone than watching the broadcast.

your IPTV service should already have all the NHL feeds. shouldnt need DAZN. if not- its the wrong service.

I miss the days of EPL and high quality boxing matches on DAZN - $150 used to buy a lot of entertainment.

Maybe I need to get on the IPTV wagon - all these costly streaming services are ridiculous. Cable with a PVR was better.

Love this! Dan is great for the NFL. Would love to watch 4 games at once for the nhl. (then I can be my own analyst!)
