Carter Hart is probably the most capable but even he was OK at best, and hasn't played since mid-way through the 2023-2024 season.
I just don't see a team thinking the benefit outweights the negatives.
These guys can all go play in the KHL.

They should form their own team!

Edmon-suck hasn't figured their goalie situation out yet because they're waiting to hear if Carter Hart gets cleared obviously.

Even if they're found not guilty it doesn't mean they weren't guilty of doing some really slimy things to a young woman. Of course the Oilers could sign one or more of those guys, we know they don't care about that PR stuff or character issues at all. But most teams actually do care if they employ players like the ones that were charged.

If Bowman wants any chance to rehabilitate his name, he can't sign any of these guys. Signing Hart would suggest he has no problem with sexual assault and what happened in Chicago was no mistake.

But if his owner wants Hart, there nothing he can do, he'll just have to sign Hart. We all know what kinda character Katz is.

Does he even care about that at all? Did he ever own up to any wrong doing?

Well for one they were not in the NHL yet when this happened, and second they would definitely have grounds to file a grievance if they are found not guilty. Look, I don't want them in the league anymore then anyone else, I'm just saying what I would expect. Hell, I don't even think the Flames should be playing Jake Bean ever again after his multiple calls telling guys what room to go to "for pizza". He knew exactly what that pizza was.

Filing a grievance and winning a grievance are two different things.

Carter Hart looked like a very promising goalie. He had solid and pretty consistent numbers on a not so great team.
McLeod was becoming a solid middle six fan favorite type, but likely would have had $1-2 million type contracts until early to mid 30s and then retired.
Dube did not look very good in his last year and had probably signed the biggest contract he was going to get.
If they all end up in the KHL, monetary wise, the only guy who is losing lots of cash is likely Hart. He could have easily signed a $40+ million contract next and was set to become a UFA.

If they are not guilty than signing them wouldn’t suggest anything other than trusting the justice system to do its job.

There are a lot of categories between guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and what likely happened here that would prejudice an employers desire to hire someone.
