Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2025 - Round 13 Run Off
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to mid to late August
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Within 10 votes and almost 40% of the poll will have to pick sides.
I went Kerins.
Have my concerns but his AHL production even in D+4 counts for something vs a new 2nd rounder.

Shiney new toy with intriguing size and upside always sucks in someone like me with the Al Davis like love of athletes over guys who show they can play who are less athletic. So I'm likley very wrong...But it's not like my job is on the line either if I get this wrong.

I tend to look at single digit difference with a good sized component of voters that didn't vote for either.

Kerins and it’s not close considering the Flames history of drafting Europeans
Kerins has improved every year. That counts for something

If Theo wins this one, I wouldn't necessarily advance Kerins. I think Bill Stromgren could win the next round, even if Kerins is there.

I am not a big Kerins fan, he would be much further down the list for me. He profiles as a tweener IMO.
I went with upside in Stockselius.

I still have a handful of guys ahead of Kerins at this point.
I think it is hard to have two major flaws as a prospect. Kerins is undersized and slow. Doesn't completely erase his chances at having an NHL career, but it certainly hampers them considerably. If he can really improve his skating, I bet he has a productive NHL career. Until he does improve his skating, I have other prospects ahead at this point.
Tkachuk isn't a good comp. While they both have enough skill and IQ (though even here Tkachuk has more of those in abundance), Tkachuk doesn't have any other major flaws. Potter is very high on my list because his one and only flaw is being undersized, but he has elite-level pros to make up for it. I don't see this with Kerins, though I won't root against him. I just have a few other prospects ahead of him at this point.

I am on the same page. I think this is where it comes down to what the voter is considering. For me, a prospect is more about the ceiling and if he can make it come close to achieving that. The farther they get from their draft, more time than not, it is just who they are.

I think Kerins should get back into the main pool post this round as well.
I’m sure many of the Stockselius voters will likely vote for someone else for the next round.

Stockselius. Sandman gave some insight into how impressive his production was for his age and league, and we also know that his abilities were hampered by illness, meaning there's likely more in store.
Kerins has always been a longshot, but has steadily progressed each and every year. However, I just see his speed and fitness being an issue preventing him from being a full time NHLer. I like his pure talent and vision on the ice, but his other attributes will probably keep him from realizing his full potential.

That seems absurdly high for Wyttenbach, but I'll take it as a good sign for a recent 5th round pick.
Also surprising to see Stockselius there above Battaglia, Gridin, Basha, Potter, etc ... But again I'll take that as a good sign for the depth of our pool.
