On April 24, Elon Musk's $9 billion neurotechnology company falsely self-certified as a "small disadvantaged business" (SDB) on a federal filing, a designation that qualifies the company for preferential treatment as part of a racial and ethnic diversity initiative.

The SDB designation can also only be legally claimed by companies owned by "economically disadvantaged individuals."

Depends how you frame it, how many people have lost $34 billion in one day?

Musk has donated at least $8 billion to charity, which is approximately $8 billion more than the sum total Calgary Puck members have donated.

Was it to actual charities? Or his foundation which is a money laundering scheme?

Stop blindly devoting yourself to billionaires who don't give a #### about you. Elon does not care, nor will he ever care, that you are feverishly defending him online. Why not scrutinize and question the motivations of anyone with that much wealth and power?

Even if one donates to one’s own Foundation, it’s still a donation to charity and the funds must eventually go to external charities. The donee does not have access to the funds for personal use, they just have a say when and to which charities the funds are distributed.

So, like, directing your charity to donate almost $200 million to the private school you built for your children to go to(and a handful of other Musk Co. exec kids). Not for personal use though. That would be wrong.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk...002953896.html

The curriculum is inspired by the Montessori educational philosophy, which emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world skills through self-directed learning depending on children’s interests. The school also focuses on a STEM approach: science, technology, engineering and math.

What exactly are your objections here? Having the means to encourage such learning would probably be welcomed, except it seems if the funds came from someone named Musk - is that the gist?

Whoop de do. Cecil touched on it immediately but were these direct donations or funnelled through a foundation? The Calgary Flames foundation donations five million a year but 100% of that is money raised for the foundation from average people. Murray Edwards writing a person cheque would go a lot further but people treat it the same.

Back to Elon; Musk's companies have received almost 40 billion dollars in government funding over the last two decades. That money has allowed his personal wealth to explode in the same time frame. That 40 billion is more than the sum total that Calgarypuck has received.

Tesla has paid 48 million dollars in federal tax in the last three fiscal years... on almost 11 billion dollars profit. So how about ##### billionaires and their charitable foundations and how about they stop getting goverment handouts and start paying #####ing taxes. Don't donate a god damn dime, just pay your fair share of taxes.

You slurping on his knob for this is embarrassing.

Imagine how many more schools would have benefited if he paid his fair share of taxes and wasn't a welfare queen? Stop donating, start paying taxes. This foundations don't impress me and they shouldn't impress you.

Well...$8B compared to his net worth north of $400B is about....2%.

I donate more than 2% of my net worth to charities on a regular basis, ergo...

It’s endlessly funny to me that Cybertruck owners’ entire personality always revolves around Elon Musk.

Is there a single other type of person who buys a car and then goes online obsessively defending the charity efforts made by the head of the car company their car comes from? Sad.

My favourite niche social media follow is Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley, The main deweeb is so hard for Elon and is such a cringe character. Here he is testing the strength of his Cybertruck by walking on it.. and cracking the windshield

He's the goofer to Musk's immediate left, but boy are they all cringe. Whenever someone runs to defend Elon Musk I picture them as one of these three archetypes.

You know what else is endlessly funny? That someone you’ve never met and cannot stand lives rent free in your heads - so much so that you’ve devoted 6500 posts to chirping him. And it bothers you that there are people in this world that move through life thinking and acting in ways that do not align with your beliefs and without even intending to they manage to annoy you.
