Testament to modern safety design and standards.
There are no such thing as miracles. Deferring to that only downplays the effort and hard work of others, or the realities of the universe.

Sure, but does it make sense to repave while in the middle of construction? Though they probably should patch some of it a bit better in the meantime.

No construction between Glenmore & Memorial, and its every bit as bad if not worse.

Not the whole thing, but they should send o it a crew and fill potholes and ruts. They could be doing that at night when Deerfoot quiets down. They can’t be unaware of how bad Deerfoot is between 16th and Glenmore.
Or course trying to submit a ticket will be like when I told 311 there was a dead skunk on the CP rail tracks at Chinook Station. “That’s not our problem!”

But it's not.
The city can't do anything about problems in areas the city has no authority over.
You essentially called the manager of Harvey's to complain that you didn't get cheese on your Big Mac.

Really think the city should angle to take over maintenance because the state of Deerfoot is a disaster. The entire thing needs a pave. Also construction isn’t scheduled to be complete for 2 more ####ing years and paving was required yesterday. Like, it’s urgent. The amount of destruction to people’s vehicles and then having insurance privatized and rapey… the AB government needs to shut up about surpluses when a billion cars drive on this totally chewed up garbage highway everyday and they refuse to do some quick repairs on huge stretches that are desperately needed. Like wtf, it’s pothole central out there. This is maybe the most critical infrastructure in the city and it’s just like “whelp! See ya in 2027!”
To me if my vote was ever up for grabs this would be item #1. Your largest city and most important politically (swing vote for UCP) and you leave the most important road like this? Garbage / unacceptable governance. Total fail.

Throwing money at the city would not sway me to vote UCP. That party is a no go until they do a full purge.

My God I love Calgary but I still get amazed every time I come home to visit at the deplorable state of Deerfoot Trail. It's unfathomable how such an important thoroughfare can be in so much worse condition than every major road in town.

Its a very strange confluence of planning, lack of planning and I dont know what the third bit is.
For instance, I have to go through Quarry Park on 24th and that road looks like it came straight out of downtown Berlin circa 1945 and its not that old!
But it leads to Glenmore. Lots and lots of big, heavy, loaded construction vehicles and its just been chewed all to hell. They patch it up from time to time but its brutal.
Its not a high speed road, but its like they didnt realize the weight and traffic it was going to have to endure.

The fathomable part is that it's a provincial road so the city isn't responsible for it

I think there is just perpetually an accident near the calf robe bridge at all times.
Its like two parties are doomed to just steer into one another when approaching that area.
Poor NE/SE pawns of the deerfoot.
