Hey I was just wondering who has this fantastic game? I bought it about 9 months ago and I still play it like a mad man lol. I know there were older threads on this game but they are almost a year old and I thought I would see who is playing this game still. I am addicted to it still. If you have not heard of this game it is a very in depth hockey simulator where you take the role of a GM in pretty much any league anywhere in the world. You can download a demo at there website.....http://www.eastsidehockeymanager.net/

I have it, and agree. It's absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately, I guess they stopped production in Jan/Feb (around there), so you can't get updated rosters anymore. Apparently, too many people were ripping the game off through the web without paying, so they were losing money. .

I always found the game too easy. Within 2 or 3 seasons, I would build a team that was a constant contender. Drafting left little to the imagination as well.

I agree on the too easy part. What I did in my last game was, after building that dominant team, applied for a job with a crappy team who fired their GM, so I could semi start from scratch, but without players reverting to their original ages/stats/etc. I also get to watch and see how my old team fails, cringing at all the bad moves the computer makes as it slowly but surely dismantles the awesomeness.

I'm not really sure what they can do to make the draft more imaginative, though. I like it. It's thorough. I do agree that it isn't extremely exciting, though, particularly after you get through the first three rounds.

The drafting system was a major killer for me. They could have improved on that so much - OOTP (out of the Park) had a great model which allowed not just high level picks to develop, but also some surprises lower in the draft.

If you hid the ratings, it made the game a lot harder, personally I always played with them on.

I had it for a short period of time. Found it more interesting to manage one of the junior teams. Constant roster rollover made it interesting.

The draft seems pretty good to me. In my career, teams have had first round busts and I've found pretty good players in the later rounds.

My only complaint would be teams waiving decent players to get under the cap rather than trading them for a pick.

on a side not has anyone played the Soccer version? I played it for like 3 years in a row 6 years ago and couldn't believe when you recognize some of the youth players just starting to get noticed today.

football manager is hands down the best game ive ever played, it never gets old and as realistic as it gets, not to mention incredibly addictive. nothing beats leading my team Sunderland to the Champions League!
