This man has been on council before, he should understand what this entails. Municipalities are legally unable to run a deficit, it's part of the Municipal Government Act. So any freezes to taxes are going to come at the expense of capital budgets, operating budgets, reserve funds, or increased debt load.
If you vote for him, you're a fool who doesn't give a #### about Calgary.

The name of the party should be a dead giveaway.
Anytime a politician uses 'common sense' as a way to describe what their approach will be, I find it's generally because they're too stupid to understand anything

Totally. That's a dead giveaway they can't think about anything more complex than an adjustable wrench. Unfortunately voters engauge with that simplicity, because they are all nuts.

Plus anyone with any sense would vehemently reject any candidates that are attached to a party anyway.

Did your neighborhoods put up reflective pylons in the middle of the road for playgrounds or is Haysboro just a test pilot?
I do wonder what the cost of those were, and why they didn't have someone with a driver's license install them. Most of them are too close to the intersection so they are constantly being run over (no way to avoid for anyone pulling a trailer). The city keeps fixing them and while in theory its not a bad idea, the execution and constant repairs must be costly.

Not sure if they're the same, but we have pylons by the school near my house in Saddleridge. They also are always getting run-over. The first time I saw it, while walking my dog, it was lying squished on the road. I just thought it was a representation of how people drive around here.

The city put them all over, and they are definitely not all being run over by people towing trailers.

I kind of like what the people of the Calgary Party seem to stand for. Their values seem to match my own, so I won't hold party participation against their candidate in my ward when considering my vote.

What attracts you about the Calgary Party? To me, it seems they are the municipal version of the Alberta Party - no vision or platform beyond being an "alternative". I've tried to read their platform and it's political non-speak about every single issue in the city. I think they'd vote for a green line if a change in the provincial government allowed it, which is good.

Who were the losers attached to the UCP?
I think my Alderman Sonya not so Sharp is.

I think Sharp, McLean, and Wong definitely are. I just about threw up in my mouth having to write the names of these conservative chuds too.

Officially none of them, but the "A Better Calgary" party are the biggest losers whose members were involved in the weird recall campaign. Then the "Communities First" party are the ones with the clearest UCP ties, with duds like McLean and Sharp at the helm. 'Common Sense Calgary' claims to be non-partisian, but their rhetoric is pretty much the same.

Not only not vote for them, but actively campaign against these deplorables.
