Just off-season improvement. Dallas and Toronto are near the bottom and San Jose is number 1.

Only looks at players in and out not factoring internal improvements or coaching changes. Kind of a crap article to be honest but without a best reporter the content with Flames info is few and far between.

Flames beat reporter is still Julian MacKenzie who lives in Ottawa now I believe.

Dom isn't one of my favorites and hie blip about the Flames ending in "Boring!" also sums up my opinion of him.

Honestly who cares if Sec is trolling? The folks who are hypersensitive to the gifs are the people who regurgitate the same points over and over. We are in it right now the dog days of summer. 3 months until the regular season with most of the offseason action complete. The flames have done nothing which irks some fans so there is an obvious desire for this thread to have life as it is the defacto team building thread.

I love all the insider tips and take them for what they are as nuggets of intel but for those that want to burn Sec and others at the stake I prefer they just keep their mouths shut and doom scroll past. I fully agree with your last comment in brackets

Cause I don't think a 1 for 1 is happening.

But then again I think every one sees Rasmus as more valuable than I do.

Doesn’t Julien cover the Sens and just provides Calgary tidbits when they need someone to comment on the team?

Julien has not written a flames centric article since he moved.

Unless the add is Coleman I prefer the Flames not target Robo especially if they are giving up futures.

Yep. But thats all they have for Flames coverage. To me, that makes him our beat reporter. The Athletic can be great, but it can also be pretty awful.

Vegas 1st probably. I'm sure Dallas would like to recoup a pick. And I could see a Honzek type prospect .

I'd still pull the trigger. The position Robertson plays may be wrong but the rest of him is very very right. Big, scores, young, under team control. It's exactly what the Flames are looking for with their checklist.

I still think 1 for 1 is the trade if it happens though. The cap flexibility is a really big deal to a team on the cusp of a cup.

Then again, Jim Nill could do almost anything to bolster that roster and Glue Gun will ruin it somehow.

It's a good question because I think you're right in saying that Andersson's value is not nearly the same as Robertson's on paper.

I guess the question it would come down to is how much does Dallas want to offload Robertson's salary for this year and future years and does that factor at all into the valuation of everything?

I do agree thought that I doubt Andersson without an add is likely not enough.

Dallas needs to get out of a cap crunch and Andersson is on a team friendly AAV this year so I imagine the add would have to be something that doesn't impact their team cap total. So pick/prospect.

For the Flames it depends on who that is or what pick

Surrendering the Vegas 1st would be unwise. I'd do a 2nd or later easily.
